So far, I have made 4 pairs of these shorts. I love them! Love them! I am sure I will make another 4 pair at least. The printed directions are good, but your video makes the burrito roll so much easier to understand. Thank you.

Great video and I love your instructions. I’ve learned most of what I know about sewing clothing from your videos and Ellie & Mac patterns. I was wondering if you can do a video on adjusting the rise for these? Newbie and rise adjustment is so confusing. Thanks for all your hard work

I love these. I would like a bunch to throw on to just lounge around the house and wear under my dresses. I think I would struggle a bit with the gusset. What kind of elastic did you use so that it doesn't bother and rub against your body?? Thank you for the tutorial.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
The exposed elastic is made for waistbands and has a smooth feel to it. I search exposed 1.5 inch elastic when I’m searching for new stuff. Joann Fabric carries it in store, also.

@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching and the kind review. The cover up was a ready-to-wear item, but you could use the Cardigan Love pattern or the Cascading Jacket pattern with length added to achieve it! www.ellieandmac.com/products/the-established-cascading-jacket-pattern
@jeanlong64177 ай бұрын
Thanks. I thought maybe it was the Cascading one.

Just made my first pair and love them!! I made the short cut and they do ride up a little as I'm wearing them. Should I make the leg / thigh bigger or smaller to keep that from happening?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC6 ай бұрын
I have some suggestions but I think it would be good to see a photo, if possible. Can you email me at info@ellieandmac.com? Did you measure your thigh and grade according to the chart?

What type material did you use? I can’t wait to try them.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
Hi! The fabric in the cover photo is Nylon Spandex Tricot from Surge Fabrics. They have designer deadstock fabrics, and I have used several of the prints for various things like athletic tanks, shorts, tops/dresses, and swimsuits! It is very versatile, which I love. You can get it here - surgefabricshop.com/search?q=deadstock&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&sca_ref=5572393.KC8nhMiSIX - aff link. The fabric I used for my cami and short set during the video was double brushed poly.

These look great. I wondering about the wide elastic. Do you think I could make a casing for it? Would that make it slide?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
If you made a casing, you would want to add height to the top of the shorts so you can create that. If the elastic is sewn in a loop that is less wide than your waist, it should stay up.
@basilscheuring91522 ай бұрын
Could you make these with quilters cotton? I have a ton of it left over and would like to make undies with them!
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC2 ай бұрын
Great question. I think you would need to use stretch fabrics to make under garments because they need to stretch around your body and allow movement. Quilters cotton has 0 stretch and is a bit structured. I hope this helps.
@kathysmigen39277 ай бұрын
So excited to make these up! It’s so hard for a petite woman to find something like this that fits correctly. Can I use a coverstitch instead of a serger for the seams?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
I do think you could use a coverstitch if you are used to sewing seams with it! Have fun!

@sallyoakes77097 ай бұрын
what stitch should we use if we don't have a serger? I usually zigzag,but I don't think it would come out smooth enough for a seam on an undergarment
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
I would suggest a wide stretch stitch if you have that option on your sewing machine.

Ooooh bet I can make these with period panty lining layers! Then I would have a 2-fer and be comfortable bloated and not chafed in my moo moo 😂 (i dont wear moo moos but I may start!)
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC7 ай бұрын
Yes. You may need to make the gusset a bit wider, but you can do that and then just reduce the leg width at the crotch curve the amount you widened the gusset. 🩷
@HSERA-z6p7 ай бұрын
I may try to make them! I haven’t attempted period undergarments yet but i think this would be a great hack! I wouldnt have thought to widen the gusset, Thanks!

Your bracelet hitting the table is so annoying 😢.
@angela_eric7 ай бұрын
I understand what you mean. However, a better way to say this is to mention something about the video you enjoyed first, then give a comment about how the bracelet knocking on the table is distracting, then say thank you for the video. Doing a comment this way helps people learn while not being abrasive. Creators can get thousands of comments and it's rough comments like yours that make them not want to create anymore because they don't feel appreciated. I hope everyone has a God day.
