Your explanations are very clear. And, thank you for not using much music. Sewing videos don't need a soundtrack. It's distracting and annoying.

Super cute dress. I was watching g while juicing my celery 😅. Pretty sure I have both those patterns but haven't used it yet. So many lovely patterns. I do appreciate when there are tutorials with patterns. It makes sewing so much easier. 😊

Can anyone explain the pattern projection. Mind blowing!
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC2 ай бұрын
We have some videos on our channel and www.patternprojector.com is free and makes it easy. I bought my epson ultra short throw projector off eBay refurbished. It was like new and I only paid $200.

a good habit to get into when cutting anything is to have your ruler on the line covering what you are creating & the blade on the side that is being cut off, if you accidentally slip the cut will occur on your excess material not the good material. E.g in this example hold the ruler with your left hand while cutting with your right on the right side of the ruler 😬 also being aware of cutting away from your other hand 😬

Love this video Diana! I know Ellie Mac patterns have 1/4” sa so for basting stitch do I do that within the 1/4” sa or on the outside so larger than 1/4” and then remove the basting stitches afterwards? Do you leave your basting in?
@melmilford18592 ай бұрын
I have this same question! Does anybody know where to do the basting stitches?

I'm curious to know if there is any reason you wouldn't attach the skirt slip to the bodice slip, keeping them as their own dress, rather than adding the skirt slip to the seam where the bodice/skirts meet. But I do wonder if that could make it get twisted 🤔

Very cute dress! Did you hem the lining or was it left raw? I couldn’t tell.
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC2 ай бұрын
You can do it either way. I will do both methods depending on the fabric and look.

Anyone who has done anything repetitive will more likely make mistakes than doing it for the first time.
