The trends say a lot about what to expect this summer... staying home, walks in parks and outdoor dining.

Really enjoyed this and it’s so strange all the trends for layering up outdoors and unfitted waists for the covid stone !! But it all makes sense. Thank you! Some great ideas.

Being petite and having a large bust, while loving the style i'm not excited about the oversized mania lately🤣 Lovely, helpful video and awesome patterns chosen though, thank you so much:)

Congrats on getting out. My sister lives in London and took a half day as she was desperate to go shopping. Love love love your videos. May I suggest Muna and Broad for those who need larger sizes? The patterns are fantastic and she has a shacket.

@@katyfort6231 I've made several Birchgroves, but am waiting on the smaller sizing for the Glebes. My Tarlee was great as were both my Torrens Box top and my Belmore jacket. The crotch curve!! No bicep adjustment! The clever tips!!

Thank you Kate for your shopping/sewing research! I super loved seeing the double-decker busses in London as well. I miss being in the UK so much. Until then I just keep sewing my brains out in Oregon! Can’t wait for the sewing weekender too...

Great video Kate. And hilariously I was sticking together the pdf for the Arden pants while watching this. I thought I was opting for pure comfort. Who knew I would be in the current style for once lol! Can’t wait to go shopping here too. It’s been a long time even for those of us who aren’t shoppers!

@ 12:00 I think the Muna and Broad Shoalhaven Shacket would be a great suggestion for those of us in the larger size ranges

Thank you for not calling shirring the same thing as smocking. It's being used as an interchangeable term and they are two very different sewing techniques.

I feel like I'm the only one not loving the casual trend... I'm living for the day Ireland returns to normal, social life resumes and I can get dressed up to the nines. Until then I'm going to dress as if it has, trick my brain haha!

Your not alone its more like utility wear what happened to femininity with fashion today. They faced greater hardship during the war and fashion was feminine.

Oh wow, how weird going back to the city with no Top Shop on the corner. I am still to have that experience later in the summer. Your review of the trends this Spring is fantastic. I'm loving these trends. When I eventually have to go back to the office later this summer, it is expected to be very casual for the first couple months as we ease back into full time office going. Thank you Kate. I had been wondering if you were going to do a sewing the trends feature. Lovely.

Nice overview. Good pattern matching. Just struggle to like any of it. It’s so not my style this time round. Will see what I make of it. Glad I sew and don’t have to depend on what’s available in RTW. Do love your flowers 💕
@gracewain54713 жыл бұрын
I feel the same Lily. I’m so glad I sew, as apparently I wouldn’t be able to buy anything I actually like! The patterns all seem great options if they fit your style though.

Is it just me or have most of these trends been designed with the tubbier lockdown bod in mind? Also the elastic waist soft trousers - totally what people have been asking for in response to lockdown wishes for comfy clothes.

I wish I could love this video instead of just like it. I recently started going back to my gym which is in a strip mall (in the US) and went into a shop next door AND IT WAS SO FUN! I have so much more fun "shopping" for inspiration instead of RTW clothes

With the exception of the cardigan, ruffle top, and pants, this year's fashion designs are truly scaring me. Looks like designers put 0 effort into their pieces. Could be lack of motivation. Thank you for putting this together.
@Lazydaisy6463 жыл бұрын
I agree.. I think its all very unimaginative and we will look back and say, " were'nt the 20s fashions boring " not like the exciting 1920s fashion
