One of the great things about being elderly is seeing fashions come back into style. I've been sewing for almost 50 years now & have hoarded my patterns. I didn't see a single pattern shown I don't have or can't create by combining a couple. My grandmum taught me early on to never cut out the original pattern but to make a copy to use to cut the fabric.

Totally amazing, inspired Autumn run down. I use your themes as a starting point for the displays in a charity shop, and they've really helped provide focus and reflect what we should see on our high street ( which in my town is dying) So many thanks and keep inspiring us all, not just the sewing community.

I agree with all the comments - I always enjoy these Sew the Trends videos. Thank you! You inspire me! It's hard to keep up with the trends, though. It wasn't very long ago I took all of my nineties dresses and shortened them. And now the longer style is back! Oh well... back to my dear friend, Miss Sewing Machine.

Good for you Kate for not making a trip to London essential. I think it could have been justified, but I’m not sure what your restrictions are - I’m in Melbourne Australia, under strict lockdown rules! But we have nuff-nuffs here who think it’s essential to travel 200km for MacDonalds! Thanks for your videos- some normality in a crazy COVID world!

That was really enjoyable. You have great knowledge to impart to us. I live in NZ and have not yet used a downloadable pattern 😒 so when I find the inspiration piece, I go through the patterns I have and adapt as necessary (especially during our lockdown) I'm in the opposite season to you so feel I'm ahead that I have already made several of the looks you showed us. Thank you, and have a great week.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this video. Like some others have said, I wouldnt mind if it was longer, though tiring for you to film. Maybe the oversize theme for the coats is because we all need to cover up our lockdown expanded bodies 😂 I'm also loving the thought of everyone wearing joggers and smart blouses on their zoom calls for work 🤣 Thank again, feeling inspired to sew now 😊 xx

Could you expand your knowledge to menswear? Maybe just do 2 annually? One for colder season and warmer season trends. Or you could talk about how you can butch up the female patterns for male wearers. It may be a challenge for you, but in the end, with your vast knowledge of womenswear patterns out there, this will make you even more informed in the scope of all patterns for all people out there. Thanks for the consideration. And enjoyed this video.

Have you taken a look at the Russians? Grasser is the only one with a separate English-language site (though fewer patterns) but they are super trendy, as are Vikisews and La Forme. Big IG presence too! And the prices are good, even for me AND they have regular sales! They all do 4-5 heights.

Apparently 2/3rds of Australia is considered obese but our pattern companies don't cater for that. That said, Tessuti patterns do run large so it may fit more sizes than up to 16.
@michellesamain4 жыл бұрын
Mel Actually both Style Arc and Megan Nielson are reasonably size inclusive. Going up to a 28 or 30 - Kate omitted that the Darling Ranges dress also has a Curves size band for sizes 14-30. Also Elbe Textiles have an expanded size range with 2 cup size options.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I really liked the format like this, with you staying at home, because we all currently probably do a lot of online shoping, and it also made me check out a couple of the items in the shops to see what they paired with it and get some more fall wardrobe and sewing inspiration. Always love your sewing pattern videos so much!!! :) Oh and was this the winter one already (in the binning you said winter, but the title is autumn...) or did you mean autumn and there will be another one later in the year?

Hi, I don't know if you have seen the Megan Nielsen patterns? There is a sweater called Jarrah which has a couple of different options, and tied waist is one of them. Not sure about the neckline though. Just a thought 😊
