Hi Brittany, the black denim is amazing and you look gorgeous wearing the pants you made! I recently made the same "design choice" with the waistband on a pair of shorts. The waistband was wide, so I sewed the two buttons on vertically and was also happy with the results. Can't wait to see more of your collaboration with TÈLIO!

Hi Brittany, thank you for making this manageable. You are amazing and I love your beautiful energy and clear explanations. I was using the instructions that came with the pattern and the waistband had me in a cold sweat and your video allowed me to visualize what the steps were lol I know you posted this a while back and hopefully you see my question, which is why I was lost in the first place: so, I am looking at this pattern (Simplicity 8701) and where I got totally confused was piece #9 (called "front band") and piece #10 (called "back band"). What are they for???? Where do they go??? I could not understand where they go and what they are for at all and I re-read the instructions a million times. I saw that you used pieces #3, #4 and #5 for the waist band and that was all. So what are piece #9 ( "front band") and piece #10 ( "back band") for?

What a beautiful machine you're sewing with! I only own the Juki Excite, Kenmore Computerized & vintage Kenmore 90, which uses cams. That Husqvarna Viking Epic (?) is in another league!

Did you have to make any adjustments? I realized (& this was on elastic back pants), that I need a full seat adjustment. Now I'm scared to use good material for fear of messing things up; any advice? Dannielle Brenner hi! Okay I’d agree to not use your good fabric just yet. I’ll say after you’ve done your adjustment, test it on some muslin or cheap fabric, then use your good stuff! I didn’t make a full seat adjustment for these, but I did merge between sizes from my waist to hip. And I really appreciate you watching my videos! Thank you!!

Hi Brittany I love this tutorial. I have just subscribed to your channel and I am loving it. I would like to ask if there is a way you can do a tutorial on one pair of pants in which you show how you determine your crotch length and then how you do the changes on the pattern. Like for example, measuring the crotch on the pattern tissue and adding an inch to the back rise. I am an intermediate sewer and I am having the toughest time with pants fitting. Thank you so much!
