I like your hair. I love to watch you sew. I am older than you but some way or another I would have loved for you to have taught my Home Economics class, you can tell how old I am because I don't think they call it that any more. Beautiful jacket.

I have no idea where my sewjo has gone, but I’ll live vicariously through your sew with me videos until it returns! Thank you for sharing your gift. It helps in more ways than you know. Praying continued blessings for you and your family. Love the hair too🤗

I constructed this jacket pattern twice: heavy cotton / linen broadcloth (lined) and then with soft blanket fleece. Love it! I am planning to make another piece. This jacket fits great (16). Thanks for sharing your sewing methods. Love it! ~ L

I've never been super successful with stitch-in-the-ditch. I didn't even think of pinning in the seam. Thank you!

Great video. You make it look so easy - but anything that has a step 27 can't be! I haven't sewn a garment in years, but you make me want to give it a try.

Thank you!! Great tutorial, really helped me. I'm not a great seamstress but my nephew wanted a very specific costume for Halloween...it required a purple jacket....I don't know if I could have gotten through this pattern without your video. Thank you!!!

Awesome job...as usual. Love your creative use of the bias tape. Gives the jacket a professionally-finished look. The only thing I didn't see you do was to attach your cool personal sewing label.

Brittany, I love your videos and your upbeat attitude. You always seem happy. Also, I love my Vikings and have had them for years. One complaint that i have is that i don't like the buttonhole foot. it seems as though i have to put them in my embroidery unit to get good buttonholes. Do you have any tips? Thanks.

Really lovely. Just wondering why you didn’t finish the side seams with the Hong Kong finish first and then sew them together?

Hi! Great tutorial and I love Hong Kong seam finishes. I think they really make it look professionally finished. I do that on almost all items that are not lined. What type of interfacing did you use? I don't think I have seen such a solid looking interfacing. Thanks so much for sharing your talents!

Hi I’ve been watching you a lot. I’m sort of confuse you use serger to finish your seam and then you do a 5/8 seam allowance? Is serving decreasing the seam allowance?
@charinarhodes82994 жыл бұрын
This tutorial was very informative! I've been intimidated to try to make a blazer jacket for my son using a simplicity pattern, but now have a little more confidence. What was your total time spent on cutting and sewing this jacket?
@brittanyjjonestv4 жыл бұрын
Charina Rhodes that’s awesome! So glad you enjoyed the video! It took about 3-4 days working about 2-3 hours each day. It’s a simple jacket but the Hong Kong seams are time consuming.

Brittany, I have a question about your iron. I’m assuming it’s an Oliso. I have a Rowenta and when I am sewing, my iron will turn totally off unless I jump up to give it a shake. I hate that: so much sewing time lost waiting for my iron to get hot enough to iron my seams open, etc. Does the Oliso do this or stay hot until it’s turned off?

Forgot to ask, did you sew your bias strrips before hand so you could see all in one strip??

Hi Brittany, question here, why not sew the bias to each piece before putting them together,seems like it may be easier/faster? just wonder if there is a reason
@brittanyjjonestv4 жыл бұрын
gmaflor hey! Ummm no reason and you may be right, it could be faster. I honestly never tried it though, just prefer it this way.
@robinh4 жыл бұрын
You would have to transfer your markings somehow as the tape would hide some of them.

Hello! Can you tell me what size you would suggest if I wanted this in a men’s Medium? Or is it even possible to alter it for a man? Please let me know! Thanks!

What kind of fabric did you use for the green jacket?
@CM-lr2fh4 жыл бұрын
How much fabric is needed for bias to make hong kong finish? Would 1 yard be ok?
@CM-lr2fh4 жыл бұрын
By the way I love the jacket. Already ordered pattern and picking out fabric.
@brittanyjjonestv4 жыл бұрын
For this jacket, that would be plenty. I bought a yard of that floral fabric and only used one half of it.

I got a random recommendation for your video. You seem to know a lot about sewing! I will subscribe. I need to get my sewing mojo back. I'm been knitting and crocheting mostly. What is your sewing background? I am mostly self-taught except for a seventh-grade sewing class.
@brittanyjjonestv4 жыл бұрын
Nina Keilin hi! So glad you watched the video! I am self taught as well. Starting sewing in 2014! Hope you subscribe and stick around for more!
