I love this art form and can’t wait to get started! You are an excellent teacher. Thank you. You are an artist. Add: maybe add some thin solid trim add the outline stitch to boost appeal and add interest. I love it and would probably add more color but unsure if that would improve it.

Just love this one. Love your message about just saying "Thank you" when someone compliments our work. I have a tendency to downplay what I make.

The mucky pink I call "ashes of roses". I love this colour pink but not the "I want to be a princess type pinks." When I was teaching in the 80s at a high school the kids would say " pink is punk and punk is stink Ms I". It always made me smile.

Anne - Thanks for posting a long video! I love to sit and sew with you and listen to your lovely voice! Thank you for taking the time to host these sew4thesoul projects- I love them so much! It's great to have permission to do these projects for no reason other than to soothe my own soul.

I really enjoy your videos. I’m a weaver and I have learned a lot from you on how to approach creating a project. I really like what you said about not disregarding an idea right away. And that it’s ok to take pride in your work.It was very helpful. Thank you very much.

I have a nice collection of Suffolk Puffs (we call them “Yo-yos “ here in Pennsylvania) on hand at all times. I stitch them on many types of projects. I love your idea of not closing them up tightly so that you can stuff a contrasting fabric inside for a more layered look. I am all for layers of fabric poking through! Can’t wait to try this! Thanks.

I am really enjoying doing my book, when I was at school I was told I was useless at sewing and they used to let me read in art because he said I did not have a creative bone in my body. I am now in later life sewing, both machine and slow an for around 10nyears have been making cards using stamps and colouring and also just started junk journals. So let nobody tell you you can't do something. Thank you for sharing with us all.x

Your book is turning out just lovely. I haven’t had a chance to start my book project yet, my mom was here visiting and saw my spool project we did first and decided she wanted one. She mailed the fabrics she wanted on it immediately, so I’m almost done with hers now. Hopefully I can now get onto my book. I might as well plan on making her one of those too. Haha. I certainly don’t mind. She’s a great seamstress, I’d rather do the finger work. I don’t care for the sewing unless it’s for paper , as in , on my junk journals. You’ve created a lovely community Anne. I’m glad to be a part of it. I need to send you some pics of the ones I’ve done. I’m happy with them, they aren’t nearly as beautiful as the ones I’ve seen In Our group, but just to give you more pics of what people have done with their inspiration.

Hi Carla, if it's any help, I'm using warm and natural cotton wadding, offcuts from quilts. If you want something thinner there is needle punched. I wouldn't advise polyester as it won't be as soft. HTH Carole

I like your puffs. Mine always seem to be too thick. Even with quilting fabric. Have a Clover gadget for a clover shape and a heart shape. I wonder if anyone has tried other shapes of the "yo yo"?

I have! I purchased several sizes of the yo-yo (plus the heart too) and I quite like them. With my disability it makes the process of holding and stitching the fabric much easier and I’m less prone to stabbing myself! I would recommend them.
