Thank you for showing the frustration, exasperation and your perseverance through every challenge this project presented. The break down at the end and every step of the way knowing you had back ups and self care at the core of your decision making process is so important to see.

To the end! I was puzzled by the front of such a structured bodice being cut on the bias. That sounds like madness to me. I've been making sloper patterns recently for the first time. I'm plus size and fitting the sleeves has been crazy. I hate the way most sleeves fit me. My arm joint is small compared to the size of my biceps, and the modifications I made to the "starter" sleeve pattern got me nowhere. I ended up drafting a whole new pattern based on my measurements and I'm hoping it'll fit better, but I haven't cut it out yet. 🤞

To the end! I picked up my knitting again for the first time in several years, to make a witchy winter hat for a Christmas gift. It’s been fun! And I’m really grateful the muscle memory is a thing. I had been thinking about getting rid of some of my knitting stuff since I hadn’t done it in so long, and now I just bought more yarn…. I need a bigger craft room! Switching off between the knitting and a bead embroidery Christmas ornament, so my hands are staying busy.

It was interesting to watch the process of construction and you're not the only one that is thinking "Huh???" With certain instructions from patterns. Thanks for sharing your sewing journey. Immensely appreciated. I FINALLY got the cream with red and black stripes knit top done. Took forever because I could only sit up 5-10 minutes and maybe 1-3 times a day. Now I can sit up for an hour at a time. Didn't start the gauchos, instead I made a Halloween apron and now I'm starting the Coe trouser from Daughter Judy. Making it from 13 oz black stretch denim. The instructions from the pattern gave me a headache, so I ignored them and wrote instructions based on sewing jeans. I cut fabric tonight. My sons helped me out with buying some fabrics. Thinking to make the gauchos from a stretch corduroy and with a matching longish vest. Now thinking to make the bicycle split skirt from the black twill. I now can walk around my apartment without the walker and cane. I can walk up to four blocks outside with my walker and that is very exhausting! My surgeries were pushed back a few years due to the pandemic. By the time I started getting replacements for my hips, I ended up in a wheelchair. A year apart for the surgeries. Many other medical issues and the Doctors are shocked that I survived, then those with a tenth of what I had, simply die. TENS unit has made much of my progress possible 😊. I'm also working on an idea for matching Granny, daughter and grandson Goth outfits for formal portraits. I made some three years ago.

@@Costuming_Drama thanks for the kind words. I'm no longer sick but was so for a few years with one thing after another that would kill healthy people. Now I'm doing what I can to going back to growing old disgracefully. Recently went to a metal concert. The audience was about my ages and most of them had neck braces on. So I didn't feel too bad. I was able to stand up off and on.

To the End! You were absolutely right about the copper petticoat. Stunning. I am fighting with my sew-jo. I was dumb and I did my full allowance if projects (I have a strict project limit at a given time due to terminal start-itis.) in large complicated projects. Oops. Now my brain wants a fast fun thing and I cannot give it. Also I am moving in January, so I don't want to moves wips, but I also need to pack... plus I have an LP channel that I have to extend my buffer enough to cover not being able to record while I move.... 🤣 It's all a bit of a mess. To the end! I ran into similar issues years ago making an Evie Frye cosplay (one of her alternate outfits). Ran into so many construction and fitting issues and fabric behaving badly. I ended up wearing everything but the coat and had fun despite no one knowing who I was. 😂 And now it lives in a garment bag including the unfinished coat because I don't fit it anymore. How am I doing? I've dissociated all afternoon and evening and food isn't cooked for the work week is how today went. 🙃🤦‍♀️ It's what happens when your city runs out of your focus meds. Currently Waiting for Godot for somebody to get a restock somewhere. Recently I've been re-reading Storm Kings by Lee Sandlin, which is about the early history of tornado chasers. I've also made slightly more headway on a 1700s pocket, maybe I'll actually finish the embroidery before the end of the year. 😂 I'm glad that you finished the dress despite the issues that popped up. It and you look fantastic!

To the absolute very end - I hope you had the best time. I just finished knitting a hat and neck warmer for a friend. Making myself a shawl and still working on my sweater because OMG knitting sweaters takes forever. It has gotten very cold, but not snow, here in Norway. We've had so many northern lights lately and that has been amazing. I also have a new magpie friend who loves pecans and bits of hard boiled egg. makes the cutest little chortle at me while hanging upside-down tapping on my window. I'm also thinking of visiting the states for Christmas this year to see family....just not 100% sure yet about it. Hoping if I do to pick up fabric there that is so hard to get here and some other notions.

I always watch to the end. This dress was all the chaos. I really hope you had a wonderful time (it sounds like you should with everyone you're going to see, even if there's lots to do). Compassionate goals and scheduling down time are a lot harder than they should be, in my experience, but I'm trying to remember to do them, too. I finished a dress last week for a friend that she was very pleased by. Nothing quite that complicated, but it was a big project for me. I also finished a large project (making a very fluffy dog) for someone else and they were very happy with it. I've been kind of floating around, working out what I need to get done next. I've been relistening to the Bewitched by Chocolate cozy mysteries (with a touch of chocolate and magic) by H. Y. Hana. Really enjoyed Villains Vignettes by Drew Hayes (one was about a person whose ability was to create an epic Halloween town that allowed people to taste what it was like to be super heroes [or villains] during the day and to win a very dangerous game after dark).

To the end of course. I have socks to finish for xmas! I have my sewing mojo back with a vengeance. My son-in-laws musketeer fencing outfit is done, I made a caftan for lounging for myself. In the meantime we also dealt with a broken fridge, a misfunctioning microwave and heat pump. All fixed and next week we get the house rewired because that was what caused the problem. I have had my flu shot and next week after the electrical mess I get my covid booster. But I will be so glad to get all that electrical done and over with.

I wonder if a wheeled dolly/cart/thing would be the right thing for the thread caddy, then you could nudge it out of the way while you're moving around, and maybe the rest of the dolly could be storage for something else? So this week I had a good long sit-down with a project I started maybe 8 years ago, I decided it's the other UFO I must finish before starting my Walking Skirt. It's a hakama pattern and to be fair I did mark the pattern upside-down 8 years ago, but holy gods it took a long time to wrap my brain around it again. And it's not like I've never done this before, this is the third time I'm making this exact pattern!

That is so lovely! I know that there are things you don't like but I think you should ignore those parts. It's a beautiful and functional gown that fills a hole in your wardrobe! The stitching is amazing so carry on as if everything was normal! I've just finished reading The Chanur series by C J Cherryh. It's 5 books that grab you in and keep you till the end! Definitely worth reading \ listening to! Not doing much else. Just finished knitting a bunch of dishclothes for gifts. Though some are going to stay with me as they are oblong instead of square must have been a good conversation to distracted me so badly! Other than that I'm waiting on a doctor to tell me why I'm so dam tired! Hopefully it's something easy. Fortunately I'm too tired to work up the energy to worry! I was told old people didn't need as much sleep as young. I'm feeling lied to!

To the end. Looks fabulous. You look amazing. Not something I can wear. Most historical fashion and wheelchairs don't play nice. Stays and corsets are uncomfortable too so cannot get the correct silhouette. Love seeing all the historical gowns that everyone makes.

To the end :) I love the expanse, though I don't love how every episode ends on a cliffhanger. I'm currently watching bad ninja movies with my sister, bc a podcast we follow does movie discussions and they're usually more fun if you've seen the movies, but these are so just. So, so bad lol.

I just finished “Assistant To The Villain” by Hannah Nicole Maehrer. I highly recommend it. It started as TikTok skits but she fleshed it out and is turning it into a trilogy!
