I am sewing up my first Harmony Blouse today. It is so fast and easy. I love Love Notions Patterns. They fit so well for me and having the built in full bust adjustment takes all the stress out of sizing. Your blouses are beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

I just just found you because I never bought patterns before, just made things up as I went along. I cut out this pattern in an XL, OOPS - had to redo it to medium with a full bust and oh, for heavens sake, I’m having fits. I know this is an EASY make but I don’t want to screw up the intended fabric. Thank goodness I used a test fabric first. I’m really small framed with big boobs now that I’m old, and now have to add this big belly. Gugh. Im so glad I’ve found you!!

Hi Carla, your tops look beautiful and the fabrics gorgeous 💞. I particularly love the double gauze 😍. Even us Brits are praying for a bit of rain at the moment...... unheard of....we are normally co planing about too much 😉😘

Praying for rain is a way of life for us in CO, but I would never expect it from you guys! I know it's been hot for you! I hope all you English Roses are protecting your lovely skin! We all look like dried up old hides here because we love the sun, and we pay for it!

Stay Stitching ha ha...we are known for being out in the midday sun over here so also dried up prunes 😉. Enjoy your rain 😁😘

That gray sleeveless blouse is gorgeous! Funny about the shrinkage scare! I have never used a double gauze but I am tempted to order that!

Thanks, Joanna, I think it's going to be a staple! It was scary when I took that fabric out of the dryer. It had sort of pleated up. I was a little panicked about what to tell my customers about ordering extra, but it just has to be ironed before cutting. It would work well for any light, flowy garment without fussy details.

Hi, I am new to your channel, bought the Harmony Blouse pattern months ago but after watching your video will definitely make some. I have just finished the Allegro Skirt (long) from Love Notions and it fits perfectly, my second pattern from Tami but I am so impressed with her PDF's, so easy to put together. Love all of your tops, thank you for sharing.

I made the long Allegro skirt in August, too! I'd like to try the joggers as well. I am really enjoying LN patterns! I have 15 of them, so my work is cut out for me!

Your Harmony tops are fantastic! I want to buy the yellow fabric and make a top so we can twin across the miles 😄😄 Love that vintage challis, too. The double gauze is going to go with everything!! All of them look great. You hit it out of the ballpark with these. And fun to see the rain falling outside your door.⛈☔️

Thanks, Viv! I'd love to be your twin any time! We have the same coloring, don't we? It was a fun little rain storm, we needed it, as always. I guess rain is a regular thing in FLA, right? I was born in Miami-Coconut Grove.

Stay Stitching Oh I love the storms we experience when traveling to Naples, FL! I'm in Virginia and we had a rainy Spring. It's supposed to rain all this weekend. I love rainy days - just one or two, not weeks! - because hey, perfect time to cozy in and SEW!😃

That's so funny! While I was typing that, I kept saying to myself, "No Viv lives in VA, No, FLA, No, VA!" I guess I got your vacay confused with where you live? I used to live in VA, too! We lived in Alexandria, in Mount Vernon Estates, which used to be part of Washington's plantation. I loved it there.
@vivmomsews49626 жыл бұрын
Stay Stitching oh wow, Alexandria is where I was raised. We're one town over now in Annandale. I've never known any other state!!
@StayStitching6 жыл бұрын
How cool! Alexandria was beautiful! We had a dock and some little boats. Our house was on a tributary off the Potomac. We'd hop into a boat, head out to the Potomac, and try to sneak onto the plantation. They'd always catch us. Thinking back, how nerdy is that? "Let's see if we can sneak into a national monument!"

Omg, I love the hem tape! Where can I buy some? Maybe this will help my hems and sleeves to not roll? I used a cheap fabric, from the thrift store, probably a poly and my hems are rolling. I made 2 dresses with it, for practice but they turned out really nice and I need to fix the hems. If I iron on too high, it melts. A hot press is what it needs though. Any tips appreciated. I love your blouses. I would like to try double gauze and the rayon too, when I get a little better! I need to try love notions, I don't like to do FBA, it's time consuming.
@StayStitching6 жыл бұрын
Look over with the bias tape. I like lace hem tape, which I sew on. You can buy iron-on hem tape, which I have not had good luck with. None of my hems toll, so maybe it does help with that. The double gauze and rayon yoryu are not for beginners, but they aren't super finicky, either. They aren't as easy as cotton, but they aren't especially hard, especially on a simple project like the Harmony Blouse.

I bought some hem tape, lace. It did not come with instructions. Do I just sew it on? I want to use it on my dress so the hem can lay flat. Thank you so much for your help! Are you on Instagram? What is your @?
@StayStitching6 жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia! Yes I am on IG @MayfieldFabric So, I sew the hem tape on the edge of the right side of the garment. Then, I iron up the hem to whatever depth I want, then from the wrong side, I sew the hem tape down at its edge. You can hand sew, but I usually machine stitch my hems because I dress pretty casually. Another tip I have for hems: BEFORE I add the hem tape, I'll stitch a line of stitching where I want the hem to fold. I usually put on a seam guide so it's easy and consistent. Then I'll do the steps I mentioned. When I'm pressing the hem up, I'll roll my line of stitching just to the inside. Yes, all this means I went around the hem THREE times, but this is how I like to do it. Besides, I like to drive fabric through my machine. I could hem stuff all day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I will tag you in my make on Instagram. I’ll fix it and then tag you again on the improved hem! Thanks for the instructions!
@StayStitching6 жыл бұрын
My way may not be quick, but it's effective, and it looks great from the outside. I don't care if I iron in tucks and folds on the inside while I'm easing in full hems. It still looks fine, especially because the lace hem tape distracts from any imperfections.

Nice tops! Looks like a great pattern. I’ve seen large rolls of bias binding in rayon’s or silk! I’d love to find a source to purchase. I think they might be 25yd or 50 yd rolls.
@StayStitching6 жыл бұрын
I'd love to find that, too! Maybe we could put them in the shop. Right now I use vintage bias binding because I collect it and have a ton of it. I will start searching for the silk and rayon binding; I bet they'd be divine!

Stay Stitching That would be awesome! I really hate the crispy cotton binding in the packets!!!!

Is there any of the rayon fabric left? Realize this is awhile gone by. How are you feeling?
