Kate, that was so much fun I would have watched it for four hours. Loved the concept of seeing all your plans AND your finished and in-progress makes in one video. Everything you made is beautiful. I hope you do more half-term videos. Thanks! I'm inspired.

Great makes and adaptations! I really like the woven/knit Linden. I'm totally with you on wishing the big 5 included very easy to find and complete final measurements. I spend more time fitting than sewing. The Vogue jacket looks like it will be really nice in the end.

I LOVED this video. Firstly what a great idea, I think we all need a sewing half term. Secondly the garments you've made are fabulous. I love the slight hack of the Linden with the dipped hem and slits, I LOVE the Linden with the leopard print crepe, the Helmi is gorgeous oh and PS I STILL haven't made the Linden yet either! Oh and the boucle/wool jacket looks fantastic too. Finally I have to say your house is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks!! So pleased I'm not the last person on the planet to make a Linden either, it's a great pattern and so us with little times is a speedy make. Lets force all small businesses to have three days off to sew!!

Thanks Kate, I loved it! None of my friends are into sewing (although I’m slowly tempting one to the dark side!) and it’s a real pleasure for me to let my inner sewing geek run free by indulging in watching my favourite sewing vlogs. 10/10 for productiveness! My right hand’s in a cast at the moment, so ‘future sewing plans’ are helping to keep me sane; keep up the good work! x

Great concept! Seeing the getting ready and then in the same video seeing all the finished items. Your comment about making clothes you don't get to wear much hit a bell for me, but I kinda look at it as a way to expand my skills for fit and color choice. I give away to charity what I don't wear frequently and look at it as my fun hobby and not necessarily need based sewing. Hope you will do more videos like this. Thanks for sharing.
@TheFoldLine7 жыл бұрын
So pleased you like - I think we are all all guilty of making dresses and not things we wear all the time!

Interesting to see "real life" sewing and actually, quite helpful. Especially seeing your choice to match patterns and fabric. Even better alongside your intentions and how you show the finished product. Please do feel free to do more! And congrats on your sewing bonanza. What results you have. I've been having a bit of a sewing break (break from other things, focus on sewing) and I feel like I'm learning so much this way. Partly because I actually have the time to take apart my mistakes and try again -- we learn so much from our mistakes! :-)

I totally agree with you about the Vogue and "Big Four" patterns and ease. My bigger problem with them not listing finished garment measurements is that I am in the size range where they cut off the patterns - ie: the envelope with the smaller size range or the one with the larger ranges and because my waist is larger than my bust & waist size measurements I'm often at a loss which envelope I should buy. I don't want to waste my money or time if I have to order the other and you can't even measure the tissue like I might try to do if I had the pattern in hand. Loved this video as I am trying to make some Lindens out of upcycled sweatshirts and have the Hadley pattern as well.
