I don't care what the costume looks like! that is just a matter of personal taste. I also presume Angela chose a simple pattern for demonstration purposes or as a beginners project. I was more interested in the types of stitches for lycra. Just need to get my tan through material now. I don't understand why people have to be so rude with their comments! Thanks for posting :) Some of us appreciated your time and effort :)

I feel like you could DIY a pattern in a muslin or other thin fabric, by copying a preferred style sleeve top and taking it apart to copy it in a swimwear fabric. The hijab part could be one rectangle long enough to put your head through, and tall enough for your neck (like a turtle neck) that you sew onto the collar of the top. Then you cut another rectangle that connects on both sides of your neck to cover your head. Have a friend pin the back so it fits well, and sew along the pins. Bottoms can be copied from a thrift store pair of leggings that fit you. The problem lies in finding the effort, because I'd rather save up for a suit I liked than go through the effort of making one. I'm on this video because I found a suit I like, but it needs more lining to cover my nipples. Modesty is hard to find nowadays, and I'm not Muslim but I wish you luck in your quests to respect your body via modesty.

Should they not have linings sewn in?
@angelakanetv7 жыл бұрын
Hi Zippod, If your fabric is not transparent, you don't need to line these swimming costumes. If you want to line them, just duplicate the pattern in swimwear lining jersey. Baste the pieces together and treat as one. Thank you for your feed back.

Hi! Was wondering if you have any links or advice for using lace fabric for swim wear. Is there any sort of stretch lace that can withstand water?
@angelakanetv8 жыл бұрын
There are stretch lace fabrics on the market and I think it would work well. You will want to line it I think and you can get flesh coloured lycra fabric specifically for lining swimming costumes. I don't think you should worry too much about the water but perhaps check the fabric does not become too heavy when wet. I would baste the lining to the main fabric before making up. I wish you success with it.

"gusset" means CROTCH
@angelakanetv8 жыл бұрын
Hi Zippod, A gusset can appear in other places too. It's really a piece of fabric that strengthens an area. It could also be used to add fabric, say at the under arm to allow movement.
