I'm sewing my handspun, handwoven fabric! This is my first sewing project where I'm using my own handmade fabric. I learned so much from this project including how to cut my handwoven fabric without it falling apart. This project is truly a fiber to finished item project, and I'm so glad I jumped in and did it!

🐑 The fiber I spun to weave the fabric for this project was sent from Paradise Fibers. You can get some of this awesome Corriedale here (affiliate) 👉 www.paradisefibers.com/produc...

You're going to LOVE steeking; what a trip! I cut a sweater up the middle for a knitting group I was seeing every week and I thought they'd all faint right there. But they all enjoyed watching a pullover become a cardigan!

Love the bag and all the hard work that went into making it. You have more patience than I do, that's for sure. I'm just starting out using a cardboard loom and I get so frustrated when taking it off the loom. Thanks for pointing out about sewing the end so that it does not unravel.

It’s beautiful. Surprised it took you so long to use your weaving with a pattern. I watch a British gal that weaves to make garments. She even makes patterns for narrower hand woven fabric. I can’t talk, I’ve just purchased my first loom and am still in practice mode. I imagine when I get to where you are I’ll be slow to cut too.

Haha, leaf water. In my house chicken broth is bird water... but that turned out so lovely, how is it holding up? I kept thinking with the leftover yarn maybe tablet weave some trim for the strap, but wow is that ever lovely. And now I know what I want to do with some of that canvas I acquired... because it was purple...

Your bag is great. I think it would be cool to make another one (with a different woven fabric!!) and alter the pattern so the flap is straight along the bottom so you don't have to cut the curved edges and you could leave the fringe. Hope you get that.

You have to be really careful with Fraycheck. It's a great product but if you get it within you seam allowance it can turn your fabric permanently dark or make it look wet and you can't get it out. The basting on both sides of your cutting line is the best. Just handle your pieces gently until you get them sewn together and then they should last forever.
