I can feel the adrenaline rush as you get ready for a competition…💪 Yesterday, the rink had a special guest as a former Olympic skater (competed for Korea in 2014 Sochi…no, it wasn’t Yuna Kim) visited and gave us a short lesson on some really basic stuff. Really basic, like gliding, forward spirals, and lunges. Funny thing is, after the session, I felt way more comfortable and confident on some other techniques like the FO loop turn that I’m trying to get. I’m still not there yet with the turn, but much better than before. 😊 After the lesson, she did photos and autographs where she asked each person about their skating goals and wrote short encouraging messages next to her autograph. I told her that if I were to have a second life, that I’d start skating a little earlier. 😇 So she left me a message of encouragement about my skating journey as a whole. She also mentioned that I did quite well with the basics that she went over that day. She could’ve just been being nice, but I guess that explains the improvement with the loop turns. Anyways, I must confess that yesterday was the first time in my life standing in line for an autograph session with anyone. I never had that kind of opportunity as a kid, and since adulthood thought those were “kid things.” After all, I bring out the kid in me when I skate, so it makes sense.

@@CoachJulia Absolutely! It was such a special experience that I’m having trouble sleeping since…🥱 I’m also thinking about perhaps some day getting to see in person my favorite skater…and that only worsens the insomnia. But still…

I got a pattern and cute the papers yesterday (parts of the dress), and I am re-doing my girls' dress. I may try to make a new one. You are inspiring me. I am usually worried to sew, because I am not very good, but yesterday I felt good curring the pieces I want to add to my girls' dresses. I am excited. I just need to choose a better fabric for sleeves/skirts. What do you recommend to make it puffy?
