If I were to describe a "sewing room heaven" - this would be it! I am overwhelmed by all the clever features you built into it. I need to build a room for sewing , embroidery and crafts with a much smaller space. This gives me ideas and inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for the tour of your room. I was inspired by the fact that you have fabricated many of your work surfaces and storage yourself, thus letting all of us know that a fortune does not have to be spent in order to have a functional and beautiful sewing and quilting area. I very much enjoy all your videos.

I love your sewing room! I began sewing this past year after my sister-n-law showed me how to make a raq quilt. My mother passed and I inherited her sewing machine so now I am hooked and have 1 and 2 more grandchildren on the way. As an empty nester, I am transforming my son's bedroom into my sewing room. I

What a treat this video is! Your sewing room is outstanding and so organized. Yes, I learned a few things and became inspired to continue with a summer project of new flooring for my sewing room - - getting rid of the annoying carpet I have now. I love all your personal touches such as the thimbles collection, family photos, the ironing board on the wall and more. Thanks for taking the time to share your beautiful sewing studio and giving us an insight into your private life.

Oh, Laura, your space brings back such good memories for me. Not only have I been a seamstress most of my life but my mom as well. She had a wonderful house setup with 4 other ladies to do various types of sewing. All the different stations you have set up brings to mind all the rooms of that house and the ladies who worked with fabric of all types and people of various needs. Thanks for sharing your wonderful open area that I know you truly enjoy. Bless you.

Lovely, organized space, and great tips. Thank you!! I am working on my sewing space. I moved it all into a downstairs family room that no one uses anymore because the kids are grown and gone. It is much bigger than my little sewing room upstairs! What fun to fix it up and organize it! I certainly enjoyed seeing your pretty space.

Oh my goodness Laura. What a lovely sewing room. So organized and well thought out. You gave me quite a few new ideas for my sewing room. You are, by far, the best teacher! I enjoy watching each and every one of your videos because you don't make your viewers sit and watch you sew. I do not understand why some teachers make people sit, what seems like forever, and watch them sew very easy seams. Thank you again for sharing your incredible talents with all of us. Happy sewing.

Hi Laura I have followed you for a long time and find you so inspiring. I am a newly retired academic and have only recently discovered sewing. I was told I would never be able to sew by the nuns in the convent where I was educated but thankfully I have discovered the wonderful world of creativity. You are a fabulous teacher Laura and your work room is just beautiful. Sending you warm hugs and loves from the UK. Dorothy xxxxx🙋🏻😘❤️

Thank you, Laura, for sharing your lovely sewing studio with us out here in KZbin-land! While no sewing space is absolutely perfect, I'd say yours comes pretty close to it! You have thought of everything and are making purposeful use of the space in every way. How lovely to have such a big window to let in natural light for your work. Ingenious use of IKEA furnishings and the raising of your sewing bed surface to match the cutting surfaces! PVC pipe can come in so handy....I even use small pieces of it in my rubber stamping for making cards. Your use of nonslip rug backing is brilliant! I sometimes put a piece under my sewing machine. I think surrounding ourselves with things that make us happy is important and cultivates our creativity. You have done a brilliant job. Thanks for letting us into your world and for all that you share with us! Kind regards.

Seeing your sewing room was a treat! It is well-organized and you have everything you want and need. The nice lighting fixtures that show true colors and give natural light are something that I need. I converted our Library/study room to a sewing room since no one used it for the purpose intended and weeded the book collection to use the shelving for fabric. Also, found an inexpensive lawyers style bookcase for storing fabric where it is visible and out of the dust. Your method of creating sewing furniture was packed with great ideas. This will be a go-to video for sewing room organizing ideas. You are a very tidy seamstress with a very cozy room. Thanks for sharing your personalized space.

I wanted to take a minute to thank you for the tour. You have some wonderful organizational ideas in your sewing room and it's beautiful! I had been wanting to find a way to make my sewing surface level with my machine without spending a lot of money for a new sewing cabinet. I have just begun to quilt my own quilts on my home machine rather than taking everything to the long arm quilter. Thanks to your tour, my husband built me an extension just like yours that fits around my machine and Sew Steady extension. We had scrap materials, including plastic pipe, in the garage and spent a total of $15 for the project. I made it about 8" deeper than the cabinet underneath since it sits against a wall. I LOVE it! I used left over white enamel paint and have not decided yet whether I will need to wax it. Thank you so much for the idea!

This is one of the most beautiful sewing spaces I have seen. I am in the process of changing around mine to make it more user friendly plus beautiful like yours. I have been looking at many sewing spaces on You Tube to get ideas that I could use in my space. It is room size but not as large as yours. Thank you for the tour - I remember when you first started this room. It turned out beautifully.

I've seen a ton of amazing sewing rooms but find yours to be an exception. Small space, cleverly organized and sew very good on the eyes with a lot of stuff yet not cluttered looking!!!! I especially liked your jewelry trees... such a cute idea! Thank you for sharing your space, i loved it!

Thank your for sharing your very special place. SewVeryEasy is my go to site for inspiration. I started making my own clothes in a junior high school sewing class, and hand sewing doll clothes as soon as I could use a needle and thread with patience and guidance from a great aunt. I can relate to your sewing methods of straight seams, pressing and so on. The projects you present are so colorful, well designed and sometimes I make a project just because "I have to make this" and then find a home for it. Your videos make it easy to take a look day or night. I'll keep watching and creating!

I really enjoy all of your videos, this one is no exception. I see you have dress forms, so I assume you make garments. I have watched your caftan video. Could you please make some more videos on garment sewing as I am not a quilter but sew totes, bags, pillows etc. I made a teepee for my granddaughter after watching your one. I love your sewing space. Thanks so much!

Hi Laura, love your studio tour. We are in the process of converting our downstairs room into my sewing room. I will have less than half your room size, but I got some good ideas by watching this. Thank you. I plan on going to Ikea soon to look at tables, storage, and bookcases. I will still have to store some of my fabric in bins but that can’t be avoided, unless I stop buying fabric! Is the area of your sewing machine sturdy enough where the table doesn’t shake when going at a higher speed? My machine is on a folding plastic table now, and when sewing at a higher speed, the table shakes so much that the smaller things actually fall off. The use of the plastic piping to raise the table top even with your machine is especially brilliant! Thanks so much. Love all your videos and have learned a lot.

Thank you Laura for showing all of us your most beautiful sewing room! You have given us a lot of ideas and organizing tips that I, for one will use. And I truly think a sewing room that has our own little pictures and personal touches makes it so inviting and homey. I too, have pictures and things in my little sewing room that help decorate where it feels cozy to me. I really like a lot of your lights that you use too. You are one classy down to home lady and I enjoy watching your videos and learn a lot. So I want to say thank you for all that you do to share with all of us. Lots of hugs to you..... Claudia

I really enjoyed the visit to your special place! You sure did give me some ideas for my new addition to our house. It is a 12 X 12 sewing room. I can't wait until they get started. I can hardly wait to scan the IKEA web page for cabinets instead of spending thousands on name brand sewing cabinets. Thanks for all your help and inspiration! So pleased to "meet" your room and know you better, Elaine
