She had a wonderful house setup with 4 other ladies to do various types of sewing. All the different stations you have set up brings to mind all the rooms of that house and the ladies who worked with fabric of all types and people of various needs. Lovely, organized space, and great tips. Thank you!! I am working on my sewing space. I moved it all into a downstairs family room that no one uses anymore because the kids are grown and gone. I enjoy watching each and every one of your videos because you don't make your viewers sit and watch you sew. Thank you, Laura, for sharing your lovely sewing studio with us out here in KZbin-land! While no sewing space is absolutely perfect, I'd say yours comes pretty close to it! You have thought of everything and are making purposeful use of the space in every way. How lovely to have such a big window to let in natural light for your work. Ingenious use of IKEA furnishings and the raising of your sewing bed surface to match the cutting surfaces! PVC pipe can come in so handy....I even use small pieces of it in my rubber stamping for making cards. Your use of nonslip rug backing is brilliant! I sometimes put a piece under my sewing machine. I think surrounding ourselves with things that make us happy is important and cultivates our creativity. You have done a brilliant job. Seeing your sewing room was a treat! It is well-organized and you have everything you want and need. The nice lighting fixtures that show true colors and give natural light are something that I need. I converted our Library/study room to a sewing room since no one used it for the purpose intended and weeded the book collection to use the shelving for fabric. Also, found an inexpensive lawyers style bookcase for storing fabric where it is visible and out of the dust. Your method of creating sewing furniture was packed with great ideas. This will be a go-to video for sewing room organizing ideas. You are a very tidy seamstress with a very cozy room. Thanks for sharing your personalized space.

I wanted to take a minute to thank you for the tour. You have some wonderful organizational ideas in your sewing room and it's beautiful! I had been wanting to find a way to make my sewing surface level with my machine without spending a lot of money for a new sewing cabinet. I have just begun to quilt my own quilts on my home machine rather than taking everything to the long arm quilter. Thanks to your tour, my husband built me an extension just like yours that fits around my machine and Sew Steady extension. We had scrap materials, including plastic pipe, in the garage and spent a total of $15 for the project. I made it about 8" deeper than the cabinet underneath since it sits against a wall. I LOVE it! I used left over white enamel paint and have not decided yet whether I will need to wax it. Thank you so much for the idea!

Hi Laura, love your studio tour. We are in the process of converting our downstairs room into my sewing room. I will have less than half your room size, but I got some good ideas by watching this. Thank you. I plan on going to Ikea soon to look at tables, storage, and bookcases. I will still have to store some of my fabric in bins but that can’t be avoided, unless I stop buying fabric! Is the area of your sewing machine sturdy enough where the table doesn’t shake when going at a higher speed? My machine is on a folding plastic table now, and when sewing at a higher speed, the table shakes so much that the smaller things actually fall off. The use of the plastic piping to raise the table top even with your machine is especially brilliant! Thanks so much. Love all your videos and have learned a lot.

I love your sewing space! It's light, bright, and inviting. I wish I had as much space as you have. But your studio tour has given me some great ideas for mine. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Thank you Laura for showing all of us your most beautiful sewing room! You have given us a lot of ideas and organizing tips that I, for one will use. And I truly think a sewing room that has our own little pictures and personal touches makes it so inviting and homey. I too, have pictures and things in my little sewing room that help decorate where it feels cozy to me. I really like a lot of your lights that you use too. You are one classy down to home lady and I enjoy watching your videos and learn a lot. So I want to say thank you for all that you do to share with all of us. Lots of hugs to you..... Claudia

Hi Laura, I was wondering what are the dimensions of your lovely sewing studio? Also since I know that you are crafty did you do the painting on the dresser or was that your daughter? Thanks for the tour.

I really enjoyed the visit to your special place! You sure did give me some ideas for my new addition to our house. It is a 12 X 12 sewing room. I can't wait until they get started. I can hardly wait to scan the IKEA web page for cabinets instead of spending thousands on name brand sewing cabinets. Thanks for all your help and inspiration! So pleased to "meet" your room and know you better, Elaine
