Saying you don't usually use pins is such an awesome flex! Thank you so much for posting this video!

YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER . Let me explain: I’m a young artist who got some commissions for some patch work bags . I know how to sew perfectly and I have a sewing machine. But I kept on messing up with sewing the squares together I couldn’t have them sowed properly they looked blotchy and half asked . So I tried again , same results . I decided to look it up , now I know how to sew and which way to sew. Thank you.

I love this video, thank you! Also, another trick and this is going to sound crazy, but to keep your fabric even more secure is by using Bobby pins. They help your fabric stay flat and there's not any ripples in between the fabric 😊!

I seriously had no idea how to do this. This was great for dummies like me. I want to make a quilt just one in my life before I die. God bless women who do. My grandmother did. I want to be like her. It’s a great American tradition that should be kept up. Trouble is I am a doer learner. I have to have my hands on to really learn. Wish I could find someone near me to work with physically because that’s how I learn best.

SO AM I … I have to do each step myself or it just doesn't stick in my mind ... I thought I was the only person that was a doer. :~) I will be 70 July of this year 2018 and just now trying to learn to quilt from the very beginning to complete " I've had a few panic attacks along the way".

I know it's an old video, but how does your machine cut the ending thread for you? Does it not un-stitch if you don't go backwards??

Love this video and thanks so much for sharing with us!!! I only wish that someone would show how to set up the machine to sew the squares together. Do you use a regular pressure foot, or quarter inch pressure foot? Tell us about the seam guide...but that might be for a different video. I'm stuck at that part and can't move on until I understand how to do the setting on my sewing machine for quilting....Thanks so much for what you shared because it is my next important step and I certainly need it.

are you back stitching each block you sew together?

ANNE TRENARY no

I was wondering that, too. If you don't backstretch, how do you prevent the seam from unraveling?

Ive got quarter in foot

No matter how careful i am with cutting my blocks are always kind of uneven on one side. Is it something I'm doing
@skylerculpepper33646 жыл бұрын
Melissa Fox, I know this was posted months ago, but try a cutting wheel instead of scissors. It’s like a pizza cutter for fabric, it makes it easy to cut alongside a ruler or something stiff without shifting your fabric.
