I really like your tutorial on this dopp bag. This is my favorite I’ve seen. You aren’t rushing through it, and you’re explaining and showing each step with your calm demeanor. I especially like that you’re using your domestic machine (yay Juki) and giving helpful tips along the way. Thank you very much for this!

I really like the size you made better than the larger size as I think it will pack better. I also thought your idea of taking a larger seam allowance on the lining was a great idea! I agree with you that a tab on the other side of the Dopp kit to aid in opening and closing the bag is a good idea. This is a really great video with a lot of good tips. Thank you!

I just found your FB page and this video! By far this is one of the best videos for a dopp kit. I like how you sew "up" to the zipper and do not fold the lining down to do so. Also, tapering the lining seams so it fits better. I will go back and try this method.

Great tute and such a cute bag! I have some hopefully helpful feedback: It would’ve been even better if you’d used lighter colored materials to make everything easier to see on camera; cork with a more obvious back side (couldn’t tell which side was up); and contrasting thread so we could better see what you were doing. Thanks for teaching us your method on this bag. Think I might sew one up for my teenaged nephew (SO hard to buy for!). Thank you!

Just learning how to sew it was somewhat fast for me . Don't know much about sewing but I do know a true artist when I see one. Every move you make is smooth as butter without a wasted movement. Sewing and removing those clips without missing a beat was a treat. Certainly not your first rodeo!

I don’t see on leather and denim so I sent speak to that, but generally I always use a longer stitch length because I like the way it looks. And you’d need a 12” zipper for this tutorial.

You’re missing a measurement. If you want it 30” tall by 12” wide you still need a depth. Once you have that number you divide it by 2 and then add that to each other measurement (so 30 + X and 12 + X) to get the total size that you cut.
