Oh I thought you were supposed to just fight with it and tangle up all the thread... this looks better.

I had an old sewing machine that I used forever, until a couple of years ago. It had a couple of feet-a zigzag foot and a zipper foot. Once I got my new machine a couple of years ago, and I played with all of the attachments, my sewing world was completely changed! Learning and using the new presser feet opens up a whole new world for sewing and can make so many techniques much, much easier and drastically improves results. I haven’t tried this foot yet, but I plan to make un-paper towels using some scrap fabrics. I think this foot will help tremendously. Thanks for the video!

You are so welcome! You are right; presser feet are so much fun. Food for thought - the unpaper towels that I have seen will likely be too thick to utilize this presser foot. A cute option that I have seen is doing a finished edge with an overcast foot.

I know this video is very helpful for people...but honestly, I'm sure it would be even more helpful if you showed the finished result..it would really inspire confidence. And a confident sewer is an adventurous sewer...when we're curious, we find innovative solutions to the problems common to all of us. ❤

"honestly"....it's not a DIY, it's an instructional on how to use attachment.

Aaand... how do you do a tidy corner? I tidy them up by hand because mine always look skewed, fuzzy and dog-eared. 🧐

I do the same thing! :) I have been unable to come up with a great way to do the corners.

Great question, and the main reason I’ve been watching videos using the hemmer foot. And to Sewing Parts Online, thanks for a truly honest answer!

Because it does not allow for turning a corner, I never use this foot.

Does this work when sewing round edges cause I’m trying to hem a top but it’s proving quite difficult but I’m determined!
@SewingPartsOnline10 ай бұрын
Eh.. with the way the channel is designed, it'll probably be challenging to do a curved hem without resulting in puckers. To be honest with you, you're probably better off pressing/pinning thoroughly.

I lost a fight with mine this morning and ended up hemming the old fashioned way. It was less frustrating.

You have to iron it first as you clearly did but you didn't mention it.

I actually find I get better results from finger pressing. Here is our full tutorial. I timestamped it where I started the process. :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/poSanGSgdpWqg9k
