I just got my first overlocker and I am scared - it's been in the box since Christmas so I've just opened it and you've given me more to go on than the manual or the instruction disk that came with it. So grateful to you! Wished I lived in the UK and could take your class but I'm in rural US and feel like I'm on my own.

I was the same! I'm used to using a standard sewing machine so I thought I would buy an overlocker as they seemed so useful. I don't know how many times I took its cover off, looked at the machine and thought 'nope, can't do it' and covered it over again! Seems so silly now 😂

Thank you for these new videos. I’ve been using one a while now and I didn’t know even some of the basics you mentioned 😂. I’ve invested in a more expensive model so the hints and tips will really help me get the best out of it. Wish I lived closer I would love to come to one of your classes.

I find that the reverse action tweezers are invaluable as they hold the thread without you having to pinch the tweezers. Great tips thankyou

My top tip before changing the tension discs is to take a photo of where they are currently working before altering them!😊

Great video, thank you. I have a basic janome overlocker and have only changed needles when I broke one using the ones supplied. Should I be changing needles for woven and jersey as I do on my sewing machine? Can I use regular sewing machine needles? Thanks again 👌

I was going to buy an overlocker but as I never sew stretch fabrics I wasn't sure if it was worth it.What would you advise?

I’ve just got an overlocker and used it on my skirt to neaten the seams rather than do French seams or turn over and topstitch. It was much quicker. I also use it for neatening hems inside tote bags etc.
