@@SewSewLive I've learned a lot from watching your videos, the Alcott dress sewalong was helpful-I'm fairly new and have only made knit items; so working with wovens is scary/challenging to me. Thanks so much for the knowledge and detailed breakdowns.

Really great tutorial! I love the fabric! If you said where it was from, I missed it.

I had seen a small amount at a local shop and then hunted everywhere for a larger piece. So I was very late to the party on this fabric. If I can find the details I’ll come back and edit my comment. It was part of a horticultural tribute or something. Hopefully my remnant has the details on the selvage!

I just noticed you have cats on your jeans! Did you live stream those and I'm not remembering? Time to settle in with some sewing and coffee and see how this jacket gets made.

I did! I got flack for the mice chasing the cats. I thought it was funny. 😆

If using a 8 to 10 oz denim, what interfacing would you recommend. I have seen flat lining before. Did you stitch baste around the lined pieces or use some type of adhesive? Thank you
@SewSewLive15 күн бұрын
You might be able to skip interfacing if your denim is heavy enough. I didn’t secure the flat lining to the outer fabric. But you can! It just depends if you need it or not-if the fabrics shift a lot. I didn’t want any stitching showing along the edges for the tutorial and my fabrics stuck together in their own. I don’t recommend gluing it though.

It did not even occur to me to use my coverstitch for topstitching. That would have saved so much time! Huh. Ok, next time.

Your Glover turned out so nice! And I could only use it in the straight seams. But it was very nice.
