CARNIVAL CLUE 2 Puzzle Mystery Quilt || Cotton Cuts PMQ

Clue #2 of Cotton Cuts Puzzle Mystery Quilt is HERE! I am making the small quilt using the Funnel Cake fabric line. In this tutorial, I will show you how to make the block with some tricks and tips along the way.

So far so good. It is surprising how different it does look in lots of other colours. The Acon glue and 'starch' method you have looks fantastic. We have a similar product for the glue and a flat seam starch product but I'm not sure it comes in a pen. Must look into that. You will hear from me after the 15th.

I had to laugh regarding how the brain works. When I got my clue, I read the pattern several times and was convinced I was missing a piece. I really wanted to get started, so I began assembling Section B. When I got both blocks done, I went back to see what fabric I had left and discovered that I wasn't missing anything -I just couldn't read! Thank you, this is fun.

Hi Desley! Great question! From my understanding, they can be made out of any type of hard wood with a close grain. The one I am using is made of maple. Hope this helps!

I received the clue last week. Sat down to sew it up this morning. The wrong colorway was sent. I emailed them to let them know. Very pretty fabric but it wont go with clue #1😊

Thanks for showing how you are putting this clue together. Question: when you did your flying geese over, did you only re-do the one side on the left or did you do both? I think it's great that you are doing a second one as you go.

You are so welcome! As for the flying geese, I had to take them both off and redo them. This could be a "me" issue, though. I never can seem to get them right when I use this method. I hope this helps!

I'm trying to understand what is on your sewing machine's display (behind you). It keeps changing. I love the colors in both samples.

I had to go back and look. I think it is just the lights and cameras reflecting on the sewing machine screen. I have a few angles I use and the cameras have lights on them, as well. I didn't use that machine (Janome) to sew these together and the machine is off. Hope this helps with the confusion! So glad you love them both!

I received my Clue #2 last week and got right on it! I'm using the Sky Diver fabric, and it's looking great. No problems at all with the construction.

Hi, Kris, I 've just started my new project, star in a star, which takes lots of triangles, cut out of squares to make the flying geese! This carnival pattern is interesting! Show us the whole quilt accomplished!

I had to go peek at it. I like it! I definitely am working outside of my comfort zone with this Funnel Cake colorway. This isn't my style at all, so we will see! Hopefully we both love the finished quilts.
