Your knit kimono turned out nice.☺️ I think it would look cute with a pair of wide legged sweatpants.

I think so toooooo. Thank you so very much. I love the gray fabric. It’s thick and feels so nice on.

Yes, yes yes! You’re always so creative! I love this kimono and all the ways you styled it too! Just super cute! Now that’s a staple piece that I bet has many more styling options too! I never saw anything like those converse, they are adorable!

The kimono is definitely a staple piece. You are right, and it can be worn with different garments, so I like that about it. I had never seen any Converse like those either. I’m so happy to have run across them. Thank you so very much, Myra. :)

I have the kimono pattern and was going to get rid of it because I wasn't sure if I really liked it. Love it as a knit but would not have thought to try it if I hadn't watched your video. Thank you!

Your knit kimono is so cute and also,,, it looks nice and warm!!! Yes, I’d lengthen the arms more but the first time you don’t realize it until youve got it cut out and sewn which is fine,,, gives you a reason to sew it again!!! Just because a pattern calls for a woven it sometimes can be adapted for a knit. But to do the opposite,,,,, you really need to study the fabric and pattern closely. It will depend on the fabric and style of the garment,,,,,Have to have enough ease to fit and wear it. You’re so sweet and have such a calm voice. Easy to listen to. Take care and happy sewing. I really love the thickness of the kimono fabric with that warm lining inside. So cozy. The shorter sleeves do give me a reason to sew another one for sure. Ease is really important when using fabric other than what is recommended on the pattern. Thank you so much for your compliments and kind words. Made me smile.

Yep, I do that quite often because I can envision the garment in a fabric different from what the pattern calls for. Loved how it turned out, the fabric was perfect. Good move on cutting on the fold, since there are gathers at neckline. 😍 love all the styling options, everything paired great. Had no idea you were a converse addict 😂😂

I love that you can envision garments in different fabrics. I’m always stuck on envisioning everything in denim. I have to talk myself out of it at times. lol. I love the gray fabric. It’s nice and thick and cozy on the inside. I definitely didn’t want the back seam to interfere with the gathers. Thank you so very much, and yes. The Converse obsession is very real. Lol.

Beautiful outfits! Love all the options! Your boots brought back memories of my high school days (back in the dark ages) when I had a pair of "groovy" (as my friends called them) lace up boots. Darn it. Why did I give them away? I wish I still had them! Enjoy your groovy boots!
@Manecoarse3 күн бұрын
Hi, Barbara. The groovy boots you had sound super cool. So glad the Converse brought back memories. These are my first pair of knee-high lace-up boots. You’ve inspired me to hold on to mine. It will be nice to pull them out years from now and reminisce. Thank you so much.

I can only imagine that your grandie rocks them. They are super cool, and I think they’re so unique. Thank you so much. Happy Sunday to you also.

Your komono, I guess it's spelled correctly, pattern 6546 is nice I liked the curved sides. It does match great with your gray pants you made. With dark color tops compliments the outfit. I like your wrist pin cushion, how convenient! 😊 Your converse shoes/ boot style are sharp, thank goodness there is a zipper in the back or you would be lacing for awhile 😂. I'm an early bird so hopefully with the time zones being different I'm not disturbing you. Always enjoy watching and telling more family members how creative you are! Love, Aunt Irene

Hey!!! Thank you so much. The curved sides of the kimono definitely give it a nice shape, and I love how the pattern pairs with the pants pattern. It makes for a very comfortable outfit. The wrist pin cushion is really convenient. I just have to make sure I don’t push the pins in too deep. Lol. You are so right about the Converse and the zipper. If that zipper wasn’t back there it would take a minute to get in and out of those gyms. Too funny. Thanks for commenting. ❤️

I like that pattern , i ended up getting a similar Simplicity pattern for a 0.1 penny a few years ago , it was doorbuster at Joanns

I like it too. I have made the tank top, and it’s one of my favorite tank tops. Those Joann penny pattern sales were great! So glad you were able to get a similar pattern.

All makes are cute and well coordinated… that stable knit appears to be worn on both sides? I love my Converse… worn through my school years playing basketball…except Chuck Taylor wasn’t associated with them from my knowledge… I have a pair of black high tops purchased a couple of years ago and discovered the sole is not as comfortable as back in the day. You had me looking up those boot style… 😅 love them.

I’m so glad you like the Converse and looked them up. I hope you saw the different styles and colors available. I love that you love your Converse too!! So cool that you used to play basketball in them in school. I think the gray kimono fabric definitely could be worn on either side. It’s such a nice fabric. I love how stable it is. Thank you so much.

Oh you’re a rebel; much like me, what I want to use is what it will be! I prefer knits over woven most of the time, and am surprised when I hear others who have an aversion to knits. The kimono turned out so cute and sure gives you lots of options! I missed, though, how you finished the sleeve. Did you surge it, cut it it and left it, or is it turned under a bit?
@Manecoarse3 күн бұрын
I love that you’re a rebel. Reading that made me smile. So cool that you prefer knits over woven. Knits are really nice to wear. I love the comfort of knit fabric. I’m really glad that the kimono turned out okay. As far as finishing the sleeve, I believe I turned the hem under a bit and stitched it down. Thank you so much.
