Out West that garment is called "overalls," whether it's worn by a ditch digger or a wee toddler. In fact, I made an adorable pair for one of my daughters out of camel colored pinwale with a chocolate brown pocket on the bib section when she wasn't quite 2 years old. She's turning 40 this week. 😻😻😻 They look totally fab on you and the fit is perfection. Not so baggy they look like a child's garment, but young and fun and you just look so happy wearing them! 💚💚💚

Love them!! I haven’t worn dungarees since the 80s but I love them. I keep trying to get my 21yr old daughter to wear them so I can have an excuse to make some. But she’s not interested! 🤷‍♀️ I was worried I might look a bit clownish. But you look fab! So now I definitely need some in my life.

Alex, love your dungarees. I recently made the Burnside bibs by Sewhouse 7 and loved them far more than I thought possible, the instructions were also great it was such fun making them. You really inspired me in your previous video where you talked about getting properly dressed every day. I am not normally one to lounge around in joggers every day but that is exactly what I've been doing and so the day after I watched that video of yours I put on a dress, and have been making an effort every day since. Thanks for sharing. I have the Yanta overalls in my sewing queue. Like you, all of my tshirts are loose, so I am planning to make and pair the yanta with a Kirsten kimono tee by Maria Denmark. That's the only close-to-fitted-pattern I would wear. Best of all, it's free.

The flowers on that fabric are about the size of your palm and have lovely colors in them. Mum and I will. Have a pleated skirt, not sure yet what my girls will have, at 21&23 they have different tastes to me and each other. 😃

I don't wear tight tshirts and I've noticed this issue with dungarees and pinafore dresses. They do look best with a close fitting top. Would there be any problem making side pockets instead of front patch pockets if you don't need a side zip?

Well done you for making the Dungarees. I recently made the Helen's Closet Pinafore. I haven't worn a pinafore since my 20's and really had to work myself up to making them (I am 61 now). I am so glad I did now. How do you feel about wearing clothes that may be a bit different to what others are wearing? I get compliments from a few people, some don't notice and others I get a look from as if they acknowledge it's different but don't say anything. I'm not one for being in the limelight but I do like to wear clothes with a different feature like an offside zipper, asymmetric hem, etc. I do struggle with looking different though.

Diane, I know what you mean, but a lot of the time people are wrapped up in themselves so not even noticing. You can’t please everyone so perhaps it’s a better choice to please the one person that has to live with you ie yourself 😁.

Your Yantas look great! I've got the pattern, really need to make them. I agree that Helen makes such great patterns. Regarding t-shirts I can recommend the new Rio ringer tee from True Bias, I love mine (and she has a sale this weekend, check her IG)

I feel like you about dungarees but those look really cool. We actually met at Sewup north in John Lewis (hopefully there will be another one day!) I got the same samples and also love the cord and the modal, though don’t have anything which would go with that colour! Keep safe.
