Like it, except baseball is clear enough that we aren't talking about baseball. If I tell my love "I sure could go for sone pizza" unless we just ate togwther and are both clearly not hungry... she might pick up the phone andake an order. I think we are all better off using neither. You know, just grow up and talk anout sex plainly.

How is it any more clear if you were to say to your lover, "Gosh, I could really go for some third base"? The baseball metaphor is only understood by those that have heard it before, even to those who know what baseball is. I knew what baseball was in first grade. I'd heard the metaphor relating to sexuality in middle school, but didn't actually know what it was until my early 20's

***** Regardless... the baseball metaphor is only understood because it's now ubiquitous. My point was, if you knew about baseball, but not the specifics of the metaphor, you probably wouldn't connect the two without being told what was what.
