I went to hell and back , I blame the menopause on my my divorce .lost all my confidence and self worth .My son said you should try HRT mum , at 58 . Didn’t want to destroy myself and my new partner’s relationship.Taken HRT for a year now noticed a big difference immediately, gave me the confidence I needed and the fog to lift , to look after myself and move forward.it’s not a miracle worker you still need to exercise , meditation, diets important , yoga , reduce alcohol, sugar and keep the weight off .Yes it’s hard work , but boy is it worth it ,All these things will give you back the quality of life , us women all deserve, we have worked hard enough for it !!! Good luck ❤

Agree 100% to hell and back comment. By far one of the most difficult parts of our journey as we navigate through life, HRT originally was brilliant for me, although I struggle with progesterone. However with the oestrogel issue as Liz mentions its not that easy for me atm. I have a feeling testosterone may be an issue in my county, but I will keep trying, I’m not in the position to go private. Hope you stay well, keep winning ♥️

How brave of you to start talking personally about this. Without the right treatment, support, understanding and knowledge about the effects of menopause results in even more extremely life challenging situations. Divorce, alienation, social withdrawal, mis-diagnoses - the list is endless! Thank you and bless your heart.

Through menopause now. I'm 55. Glad I'm through to the other side. Just mild hot flashes here and there. Most of what the internet told me menopause would be, was not. But so many more symptoms came up I had to research myself. I'm glad in my health choices I've made along the way. So far so good.

HRT saved my life, I was absolutely on the floor when I went to my go. I had done my research. I had one hell of a fight to get it and at 60 am fighting again to keep it. 🌿

My GP has been fantastic. Nhs Northumberland has sent me to a gynaecologist who has scanned me and given me a coil and oestrogen gel. I was also given testosterone gel. They have been amazing as has my husband and children. However without people like you I wouldn’t have been so informed. Thank you❤

I used raw chocolate, maca and evening primrose oil for menopause. I had a few warm flushes no sweating, a few moody days but no insomnia. I took algae oil and omega 3 oil in nuts and coconut oil for brain fog. Pelvic floor exercises are so important and maintain muscle mass - protein shakes with goji berries. It was a journey that no-one prepares you for❤

@@pippaDlightful Thanks. Every woman has their own unique genetics and epigenetics. Detoxing is important and removing fake estrogens. Who knows what the long term effects of nature identical hormones are in a battle with your own hormone aging process. I decided not to risk it.

@@dumblizziethat's great that you were able to. Many women really suffer in both perimenopause and menopause. Many women would not be able to continue without hrt and yes, they have tried many different supplements, eat and exercise well, etc. Yet, their body needs the assistance of HRT. I find its really interesting that people who seem to be against hrt or have never needed it pop on to a channel where the person who uploads is a huge proponent of its benefits 🤔

I had my menopause at 39, really young. I was offered hormonal patches but got a cyst in my breast & was taken off it as at the time there was a big hype on certain hormones causing breast cancer. I was prob on it for 12 months max. And then I was offered nothing so went cold turkey. Horrific hot flushes, headaches brain fog, lack of confidence & of course being the age I was I suppose other people didn’t understand why I was the way I was until I explained. However now 61 I have T3 osteoporosis in my spine & hips. Suffer with mega heart palpitations and under cardiology. I don’t feel a victim, but a fighter so I try my best to be as fit & healthy as I can. Good diet exercise and D3 & K2 supplements. Hopefully our daughters and other female companions who are not quite there yet will have a better understanding of what happens and can happen going through it if we keep the conversations flowing and open. Not like back in the day when it was hardly discussed & looked on as a bit of a taboo subject.

I had a partial hysterectomy in 2011 and didn’t really notice any negative symptoms until…hot flushes, night sweats and sex all of a sudden just stopped and didn’t even enter my mind! It was a complete light switch off moment and now I am taking Testosterone cream, through Newson Health, my libido has gradually returned 🥳 My other hormone levels need a slight tweak, as I am still experiencing night sweats and lack of sleep but certainly feeling much better with HRT.

Thanks to watching you through covid times things have been great regarding all the menopause problems from using patches. Unfortunately in March a DR changed my patches I bled for 4.5 months straight. Finally spoke to a DR 2.5 months ago. Put back on the patches I had no problems with, but I'm still bleeding 20 days a month. I'm now very ill with iron anemia, really not impressed with that DR! X

Definitely experiencing return of menopausal symptoms since using the new pump 😩 luckily I had a spare 'original' Oestrogel left, which I started last weekend, starting to feel less hot flushes now thank goodness but know this pump will run out and am then back to square one! It is incredible that the company aren't listening!

I was on a Mirena Coil from age 40 to this month. I will be 60 in December. I didn't get any problems through my Menopause. It used Progesterone to control heavy bleeding . A recent blood test has thrown up a few flags and I now need to have another blood test next Friday. I have avoided Estrogen as when my Mum was put on HRT it led to breast cancer. My sex life has been non existent for many years. My husband is now experiencing problems so recovering our sex life is unlikely.

Really interesting to hear your story. Interesting to hear about the besins oestrogel and the change in the shape of pump, as I am also one of those people who have noticed some of my symptoms coming back and I notice more of an alcohol smell when I apply it, which I hadn't noticed with the previous types of pumps. So I can't wait to hear all about your thoughts too. Thank you for talking about these things.

Great that you are speaking about this all so insightfully, clearly and openly! Do you think progesterone may also contribute to calming anxiety and irritability? I have heard some USA doctors discuss this. My GP has permitted me to take 1 progesterone tablet everyday instead of 2 for 2 weeks every month. I think this has possibly helped me to avoid some anxious tailspins, the occasional dish being thrown out the kitchen window and other out of character behaviour.

I spontaneously aborted my endometrial lining. Profuse bleeding had to be stopped. Followed by hysterectomy. Ovaries were left to shrink naturally. HRT was not offered as the uterus had growths. I am 63 now. Quote from my husband, " I think you managed." Hubs being squeamish walked out of medical appointments. I had to phone night sisters on the wards for guidance whilst bleeding profusely. Luckily I am of pioneering stock, brave, strong and true!❤❤❤

Thank you so much for this Liz. I am going to revisit HRT immediately. I’m 57 and had the most horrendous menopause. You name it, I got it. But being Hypothyroid, I found it made my symptoms worse. The body aches were just too much. I wanted to ask you about testosterone. Could this be provided by my doctor or do it have to source myself? I didn’t think it was available on the nhs. Yet I know how vital it is for women. Thank you for all you do 🙏🏻🌺

I was perimenopause around 41, the dr didn't give me HRT, I was havi g heavy periods, sleep anxiety, anxiety, UTI vaginal dryness aches a d pains. Went to the urology, they didn't know why I was having chronic UTI, went to the gynecologist they put me on microgynon 30 for my periods. At age of 53 I was put of estadot 100mg, mirena coil unfortunately, I've been bleeding and having periods 1yr I went for ultrasound scan, they found that the coil not in the right place, now I'm waiting for the sedation to remove it , I unsure if I'm going to have it replaced? The gynecologist, has given me utragestran to take 1 at night to help me sleep for my spotting and anxiety, I haven't started them yet as I hear they cause bad side effects ?❤

I had a total hysterectomy aged 39, am now 47 and have felt great the whole time ive been on HRT tablets. But Since i got Covid 20 months ago, i was so unwell it's like my hrt stopped working, and i had to change my diet too and prescribed supplements after being vegan for 2yrs, as blood tests revealed rock bottom iron, vitamin D etc, which i why I was so unwell for the months that followed, but i have had menopause symptoms still like headaches, brian fog, anxiety etc, not as bad as it was last year but I still dont feel completely right, I've had to change my diet and eat meat again etc which has helped my recovery too, but Covid seems to have triggered menopause symptoms i didn't have before and battling with..im just wondering if i should increase my dose from 2mg to 2.5 or 3mg, do you know if i can take an extra half of tablet or would i have to try extra oestrogen in gel form instead? I just been right off balance with it all since i got ill and it is still disruptive to my life in many ways, a complete nightmare that doesn't seem to wanna go away. Last blood test a few months ago said my oestrogen was low but testosterone was normal, so if i can increase the tablet im wondering if that will help.

Liz, this is you at your best! 🎉Loved this video ❤ I started HRT nearly a year ago at age 48 not sure I am on the right dose as I have had some symptoms return and some new ones appear. I am currently waiting for a scan as I have had some daily bleeding/spotting for 9 months now since having the mirena coil fitted. It’s all quite frustrating but hopefully things will settle soon and my dosage will be tweaked and made more effective 🤞
