When I was in school once the pregnant teachers began to show, they disappeared to have their babies. I was born in 1964. I am now a retired teacher. My coworkers went as long as they could before going on maternity leave. Teachers had to use up their saved leave days to use during maternity leave.

it is, but it's hard to prove unlesss they just straight up mentioned your pregnancy. Just do the interview and follow up "sorry we filled the position" and they can't do anything about it.

I mean I wouldn't hire anyone who's going to immediately be eligible for paid leave. Discrimination has to be proven. As long as you're not obvious about it, you're not gonna get caught. Can literally just do the interview, call them back the next day and say "sorry we went with another candidate" and nothing else and there's no lawsuit.

The vast majority of discrimination, employers get away with because they don't say anything/have anything in writing that can incriminate themselves. Also idk what race has to do with it. I’ve worked with pregnant 🫄 coworkers so I see nothing wrong with them working as long as they can do a great job at their jobs. I see no problem with it at all.
