Pro-tip: Listen to this video and replace Mars sign with your/their 5th house planet placement. Mine's in Taurus, slow to build, long lasting, sensual sex (Leo 5th House cusp, Sun in Taurus). Had a partner with Aries 5th house, Mars in Aquarius. Signs and Houses are very different things, though there is a loose Archetypal connection between them. Signs represents personality tendencies, they color the deep hue of the Planetary energies with their lighter, more diffuse, background color (if Planets are like spot lights, then Signs are like background screens or colored lenses). Houses are more neutral areas of a chart in the sense that they represent areas of life where the Sign and Planetary energies get played out. They don't really add "personality" traits and energies themselves, except that Angles and 5th House areas of a chart can show amplification of the Sign and especially Planetary energies found in or near same (for example, Planets near the Ascendant tend to be UBER amplified, and the person tends to be attuned to that energy/consciousness par excellence). Having Mars in 2nd, is not the same thing as having Mars in Taurus, on a personality level. Mars is 2nd will tend to indicate that one's Mars energies, both in the Planetary and Sign sense, get played out in the areas of life that the 2nd house symbolize, such as values, material objects, personal resources, how one builds, stores, and/or uses their personal energy, etc. Mars in 2nd doesn't necessarily indicate a more sensual, Venusian-Earthy, high sexed Mars--not unless the Sign and aspects support such a pattern. I will say that the Masculine Houses do tend to impart to Planets and Signs a bit more active and lighter feeling vibe, and the Feminine Houses do tend to impart a bit more passive and/or deeper or heavier feeling vibe to Planets and Signs. I happen to have a 2nd House Virgo Mars, conjunct Virgo Jupiter (ruler of 5th and 8th) in the 1st, closely trine Sun Mercury conjunction in Capricorn straddling the 5th and 6th Houses, and also square Sag Neptune in the 5th. Sex for me is a complicated, relative matter. There is a definite sex drive usually, but there is sort of extreme view of sex as a potential merging of mind, Soul, and body (the ideal), but also I also view it as a limiting and stuckness facilitating thing when it's purely lust/physical based (not to say that I'm not ever tempted to that, cause it has happened, but generally it's a bit distasteful). I recently met a woman though, where I am intensely, magnetically attracted to her on every level. What would life be without good old Saturn messing things up, with her Saturn in my 8th. So I'm trying my best to try to be as good of a friend and spiritual adviser to her as I can be, while keeping my intense, all level attraction to her as chilled and calm as I can (which is very hard, because we are like magnets, and she gives very mixed messages at times, such as getting close to and brushing up against me). I do feel/intuit that it's part of my karmic/dharmic path to try to be a helpful, healing influence to her in sexual areas.

in my chart it says that Mars is in Aries, but it's in the 2nd house. is this how I read it? the 2nd house is Taurus, right? (I'm kinda confused with how you read a chart.) My sun is in Virgo btw.

+Jesse Bornschein So I did a video about retrogradation that might be helpful. A Leo Mars in the 4th House might express as a desire to dote on your partner. Sexually, Leo Mars like to feel that they've performed with skill...and that they're the best their partner has ever experienced. The retrogradation might cause that expression to be a little too self-conscious about how the performance is being judged. Hard to say for sure without seeing the entire birth chart. so i have a Virgo Ascendent but when I look at my chart my Libra Mars is also "in Ascendent". I'm not really sure what this means other than my Mars is in the 1st house? Could this mean my Libra Mars impacts things that the Ascendent impacts (such as physical appearance and how I am perceived by others)? Or does it just really mean my Mars in the house of Aries? I’m really suprised a lot of mars in Scorpio who are commenting are loyal and committed. I met a mars in Scorpio and he didn’t even know me but he just wanted to bone me at first sight but could never act upon it because I was not interested and he already has someone before he laid eyes on me but that didn’t stop him from drooling over me whenever he saw me at sight. I read mars in Scorpio are loyal however they will stare at beauty from time to time but maybe his Venus in Capricorn had some influence?
