I knew Cindy Hendy, David Parker Ray's girlfriend/partner in crime (1st story) before she moved to New Mexico and met him. What she took part in with him is sick, but knowing what she endured as a child and knowing that she knows better than most what it is like to be a victim of the horrors she endured as a kid, just makes her actions even more sick. Being abused is NEVER an excuse for abusing others! Because if anybody should have compassion for a victim, it should be someone who knows exactly what it is like to be the victim.

What you learn in childhood is adopted as normal. Later, anything less harsh seems abnormal because it does create a reaction. It seems pointless. Familiar reactions of fear, anxiety, post-trauma relaxing phase are all normal in childhood for an abused child. Familiarity brings a sentiment of home. They don't have remorse because no one has remorse over what they consider normal and no one was remorseful for hurting them. It's as regular to them as you brushing your teeth. They are taught that there are no personal boundaries so they don't see any boundaries to what they can do to others.

@@velinas_ Most people don't want to believe the serial rapist or serial killer looks and behaves, most of the time, just like themselves because, if that is the case, and it is, it reminds them of what they could become when the dividing line is so obscure. If we take a look at the human rights abuses going on in the ME right now it is proof how easy it is to turn from "ordinary" to "Beast", both as individuals or as a nation, and how easy self justification becomes.

The first story is The Toy Box Killer. What they left out is how they didn't believe her at first until the man's girlfriend came into the same hospital where they took her with a busted head. It matched her account of having to grab a lamp and hit the woman who was watching her as she was talking on the phone. She grabbed the keys unlocked herself and ran. That's when they followed up to the house. Sad that because some of the women were at bars they were not believed. One woman's husband left her after being kidnapped for three days and mercilessly raped and tortured. also, when they found his little toybox, they also found out that his girlfriend and daughter helped him and they had to identify some of the women because they were drugged by tattoos they would put them on the news. Some women couldn’t even remember what happened to them and would be called into the police station, because somebody would recognize a tattoo of them or their face on the news and they would go in to find out what the hell and they would have to watch the videos of them being raped and tortured and they were drugged and didn’t even know about it that’s before he started killing them.

Ok, this isn't victim-blaming, but for accuracy's sake it's a little more complicated for the victim who wasn't believed by her husband. Many of the women Ray and his accomplices fished out in bars and parties were indeed troubled individuals and had problems with alcohol and the law, or were living what one would perceive as a promiscuous lifestyle. Again, this is just a description, not a judgement. Now, normally one would suppose that that alone would clue people in from the start that they were ideal targets for abusers, and their words should be at least investigated, but 1. things unfortunately don't always happen as they should and 2. Ray had for sure police in the county on his side, and maybe even more powerful friends. As for the woman who escaped, she had a history of running away from home at regular intervals, and meet with an on-and-off ex, who was both abusive and facilitated her drug problem. She had actually returned beaten black and blue many times before. When she came heavily injured and rambling brokenly about what happened, which she couldn't quite recall due to the drugs, her husband assumed her side guy had simply gone overboard with the abuse and decided he didn't want to put up with it. So, just a sad situation where things happened in the worst possible timing and combination for that particular victim.Sad and harsh, but not quite as malicious as it first sounds "she came home with a slashed throat and her husband didn't believe her".

ATTENTION PLEASE! Now that we have the ability to communicate across the world, let's educate each other. I worked with adjudicated juvenile sex offenders in a therapeutic facility. I can not disclose the horrors the children made their victims endure. Please supervise your children at all times. Even with siblings. Teach your children to use the restroom between classes not during. No sleep over. Most of the children offenders were never abused. Early signs of a juvenile offender: secretive, inappropriate websites, pictures and drawings. Abusing animals, younger siblings with mental and physical violence, lack of empathy, purposely manipulating adults in order to be alone, alone with pets, alone with potential victims. Finding dead insects, small animals. Exposing themselves, excessive touching. Early signs your child is being abused: redness in genital area, uti, spreading feces, wetting the bed, being inappropriate with adults and children with affection, nightmares, change abruptly in personality. Always believe your child. Do not question them for details and do not talk to the accused. Take your child immediately to the ER, make police report. Let them investigate. Your job is to protect your child not the offender. Even if the offender is family.

Unfortunately, what I have come to understand is the victims usually grow up feeling powerless and become the abuser for the feeling of having control over someone. Then the cycle goes on to the next victim, and on and on and on... we need to figure out different punishments for these types of crimes. Because our judicial system isn't helping to illeviate these type of crimes. If anything, I think there are more abusers and preditors out in the world with no consequences. Too bad it's not like the old days where a town got together and "took care of it" and did away with the horrible person. Nowadays, if they are caught, they get a comfy cell, segregation, meals, and it is absolutely obsurd. I say eye for an eye OR let the victim (if they survived)/family decide the fate of the abuser/killer/preditor. These monsters need to FEAR THE CONSEQUENCES if they were to act on their horrific "fantacies/urges" whatever they call them. For example, in India a young woman had acid poured in her face by a man because she rejected his marriage proposal! The court granted her wish to have acid thrown in his face instead of jail time and a fine.

You are correct, the judicial system is failing! The judicial system is not only failing victims and the rest of society, but also the offenders. Offenders like David Parker Ray, Ted Bundy, BTK, and the list goes on and on and on and it includes campus shooters as well, all had one very important early warning sign in common: they all had a history of cruelty to animals that began at a very young age. Children are given stuffed animals almost immediately after birth and are therefor conditioned to find comfort in animals which means that it is more unnatural for a child to want to harm what they find comfort in. Children often act out harm against animals because animals are the only victims that the child can control and they a voiceless victim as well. Children do not just dream up such heinous violence out of thin air for no reason, so if a child is behaving this way somebody should be asking who is doing what either to that child or in front of that child? And when a child ends up in front of the courts for such behavior the courts need to require therapy for those kids instead of passing it off as "boys will be boys" or "kids will be kids". That is a cop out 100%! The courts need to do the same for adult offenders because people who do these things are not ok inside and if the courts required some sort of required therapy while serving sentences there would at least be a chance that maybe the offender could possibly have a better chance of being a productive and happier member of society and not need to act out the anger from their past on others. I also do not think that having been a victim of abuse is any excuse for abusing another. I am a victim of abuse and things youtube won't allow me to type and share publicly and because I know what it feels like to be a victim of abuse it would make it that much more inexcusable for me to victimize another because I have walked in the shoes of a victim; but maybe that is what separates the victims and the survivors, the conscious decision to either become the abuser or to refuse to allow that abuse to continue to control one's self and continue to take from your life.

I completely agree it’s astonishing. How many women do not understand that the way they carry themselves as ladies and the things that they say and do and the way that they nurture their sons tremendously dictates the way they will view and treat women. I took this very seriously when I was raising my boys and the other day when my daughter-in-law told me that one of the reasons she fell in love with my son was because of the way he spoke with me and the way he treated me is what I consider a great accomplishment of my life. I did the job that God assigned me to the best of my ability.❤

Serial killers exist everywhere, and while there is something to be said about the "culture" and the circumstances that enable them in America, if you look, you'll find the same kind of crimes in other places like Russia and Canada (!). Large size, remote areas, crowded and impersonable cities and institutional law enforcement issues make it easier for serial killers to offend for longer times without getting caught. There are also other countries that are so war-torn or used to endemic violence, that there might be tons of serial killers operating and they simply go unacknowledged or there are no resources to hunt them down. The two most prolific serial killers were both Colombian, and between them they had something like 700 victims, children at that.

I have listen to many so called PROFESSIONAL people designate all kinds of explanations for the reasons these monsters kill...And I am sorry to say that you guys will never know the WHY of it all...I am of the firm belief that you can never truly learn what is going on in the minds of these animals....How far have we come to catch these killers before it is WAY too late..we are no further ahead...and you dont have to be a doctor to realize that much

I agree. Study as they may, there is first of all no way to ever tell who is one and therefore be able to stop them. That will never happen. They can only be "analyzed" decades after they have been on their sprees and all the analyzing will never stop the next one from operating. I reckon the reason why the rest of us listen to and analyze for ourselves these horrific stories is exactly what you mention, the great mystery of not being able to understand what it is that moves around these monsters minds. It will always be a mystery how they are capable of stepping across a certain mental threshold and keep on doing it without ever feeling a thing in regard to what they do.

Exactly. In reality, people do not care to change anything. Everything is ok like it is... That is why, people allways will remain on the surface of understand things, to investigate, etc. indepth. In reality, no one cares. Exceptions exist tho.

Yes we are further ahead. Stay living in fear. When is the last time you heard a serial killer go under the radar for decades. Been years. And now days they always get caught. They used to go unnoticed for decades. Your comment is emotional bias typ view. Where I’m from we almost don’t have serial killers at all. They always get caught after the second victim. Go do real research. Instead of speaking like you know it all. Cause you looking all kinda clueless.

Dream on....in the real world you will always have some terrible parenting and no country so far has ever shown they have enough resources to monitor or deal with that (it's impossible to do so) , and in some cases children have a good upbringing (see BTK) but are genetically predisposed to be a psychopath.
