Omg I hear the early motorhead sound by the Dimebucker. Fast Eddie had a blade humbucker on his own 70s Fender Stratocaster.

I have to admit, even if it didn't sound any better it at least looks awesome, hot rail humbuckers rule

Blade pickups are my favorite. I used to be into actives, but actives are TOO good. They don't have personality like passives. So I got into high output passives. I've always been a dimebag fan, so I tried the bill Lawrence, and the dimebucker. The dimebucker is great, but I like the b.l. more, as it's a bit more versatile. The DiMarzio blades are really good too, just not as nasty. This is a good demo. The dimebucker gets a bad rap from people that don't know how to set up an amp. This proves the dimebucker isn't "shrill" or "thin sounding".

Exactly. I feel the same way about actives. I love actives, but it feels bland with how over used and similar sounding they are.

@@manicdoom absolutely. The only actives I've found that have personality, are the Seymour Duncan livewires. They sound like a jb, jazz set on steroids. 🤘😆🤘

You know, I've never heard it put that way but you're right. They have no soul. It's like the robot of pickups. Like the difference between a vinyl LP and a cd.

Nazgul is best for low tunings, where other pickups start to get muddy, Nazgul shines. I put Nazgul in my 7 string RG7621, and it's a beast.

The Dimebucker is a good pickup, but I prefer the Nazgul which I have in my Schecter. It sounds great. Lot of crunch and harmonics with a lot of clarity too.

Thanks for your perspective. Im conflicted between the Nazgul and Dimebucker for my Gibson Explorer. I really want a fat beefy sound. Would you say the Nazgul has significantly more cruch than the Dime?
@JimboSlice44
@JimboSlice44 3 жыл бұрын
@@ScottStappsintheBAR The dimebucker has more high end than the Nazgul so it might sound more crunchy so to speak. If you want something in the middle that sounds really fat I'd suggest an Omega, Custom 5 or Full Shred. The Omega is a ceramic while the custom and full shred are alnico. Omega has less output than the Nazgul but sounds fatter with a rounder midrange and more clarity, I'm using one in a strat.

One thing about this pickup is that it’s very bassy on its own so depending on your amp you’ll have to turn your amp bass down a bit or else it will sound really muddy

I have the dimebuckers. In this video I found them to have much more clarity. I wonder if the Nazgul having more mids makes it muddier.

The Nazgul is wound for more modern metal guys who hate scooped mids.

Well the mids being where human talking range is made louder in our brains, so having more of that mid range is really muddy and off putting when too much is there

Some people love the Nazgul but I never understood why ... it has a weird sound profile, it is harsh/treble heavy and yet lacks clarity... which is kinda weird. The Pegasus is probably the best pickup Seymour makes in terms of clarity for bridge without being too harsh, but it may lack output/aggression for some people, but it is very articulate and clear. As for the Dimebucker vs Wylde L500XL, no comparison, the Wylde wins by a mile but it is VERY treble heavy while being bass heavy as well which make a very very big sound but forget clarity :) It's not made for that, it's made for pure aggression with too much gain like good old Dimebag.

Sooo the ducking plastic screw holes! Because they require a spring they tend to strip out over time and major readjustments. Try swapping it a few times into different guitars and watch them crack!! I wish they’d have reinforced the screw holes a bit better!

On paper it may look like it has a lot of bass but playing it in a guitar I thought it was super trebly and shrill . IMO the worst of the Lawerence variants . IMO the best is the real bill & Becky. A lot more warmer .

Just a tip but you would need a hush pedal in your set up. Itt would clean up your rig by eliminating white noise.
