So I finally found a Candy Apple Red Strat MIM with a Floyd Rose I always wanted and it has the H-S-S. And it has a black pickgaurd. I have your guitar with a Floyd so to speak. So I bought a Trembucker because , well it's well you know why. Seymour Duncan. I put in a Kramer Striker mahogany super strat instead. I'm now thinking I might put it in the strat. Thank' dude. This is a great demo and exactly what I needed

Thanks so much for your appreciation my friend! With Floyd Rose bridge the Trembucker will work better than the vintage bridge above all on the palm mute riffs...JB Trembucker and Stratocaster is a fantastic combination

With this pickup is important the wood combination, it works really well with alder body guitars like stratocaster. It sounds darker than other humbucker bridge pickups with alder body guitars, this is my experience with it.

I put this in my strat with just a single 500k volume pot straight to the output jack (Tom Delonge strat inspired). It’s a bit bright for me, would a 250K be better?
@GuitarSoundLab Жыл бұрын
I've 250K and it sounds awesome. I've problem of too much bright only when I couple it with the middle single coil pickup Texas Special...infact I never use this selection.

The JB sounds pretty bright in this guitar. Does the JB go through the tone control or is the tone control bypassed?
@GuitarSoundLab2 жыл бұрын
The Tone was setted 8 or 10, it is not bright if selected alone. Instead, if selected in coupling with the central pickup the result is extremely bright, in this case the Tone must be setted at 4 or 5
@independentthinker.2732 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarSoundLab would the difference that I'm hearing be because it could be a 500k pot and not a 250k that you are using? I'm using 250k pots on my strat and it's nowhere near that bright.

Will tb-6 paired with ssl-4 work.
@GuitarSoundLab Жыл бұрын
I've never tested the TB-6, in any case you have to compare the two output of the two pickups, they have to be not so different, otherwise the volume will be different during the selection

Great demo. would you share now close you set the humbucker to the strings? I have a HSS with Trembucker bridge, and it seems to sound a lot better really close to the strings (a nickels thickness 4/64") but it's a big volume mismatch with the single coils (which I just live with). Whenever I lower it to try and match the neck/middle volume it loses its mojo. Curious how yours is set up it sounds great.
@GuitarSoundLab Жыл бұрын
Hello many thanks for your watching and appreciation! I've tried to make a demo with different tone settings. I use a strings 46/10, you have to check them in inches. The distance between 46 and humbucker is 2,5 mm, while the same one from 10 and humbucker is 2,0 mm. It's true that setting it at less distance the sound become fatter, but you lose the sustain in the same time...so you have to take a decision for the compromise in line with your preferred result.
@independentthinker.2732 жыл бұрын
Sounds great! What strings are you using on your strat? Also what picks are you using? I'm looking into changing my setup on my strat. Any info could really help my decision making on this change. Thanks!

The JB is a great pickup for rock stuff, just not the best cleans and a big volume drop when you go from the full JB to a single coil.
@GuitarSoundLab5 ай бұрын
@@1madaxeman yes I agree with you
@Ottophil5 ай бұрын
Big volume drop? Bro, its using half the coils, its gonna be half the volume. Thats physics. And the same for every humbucker
@1madaxeman5 ай бұрын
@@Ottophil not quite - a low to medium output humbucker paired with a hotter wound single coil will allow for a much better balance when changing. A hot bucker (like the JB that I have on one pickguard) paired with more modest lower output single coils brings a massive volume discrepancy. Wisely choosing your pups outputs is the way to do HSS well.

Do you prefer 9 or 10 thickness of strings?
@GuitarSoundLab Жыл бұрын
I prefer 10-46 string size, in comparison with 9-42 are fatter in sound and comfortable. The riffs response are also fatter than the 9 ones

Thanks so much my friend!!! On this guitar I have the Texas Special single coils, check which single coils you prefer
@independentthinker.2732 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarSoundLab I've used the Texas specials. Great pickups! But if you want a pick up without the hum but with a similar tone, I recommend going with the Seymour Duncan STK 2 for the neck and mid. Studio session player Dann Huff uses that pickup combination along with the JB in the bridge in his number one strat. His guitar can be heard on countless records throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Strangely enough the trembucker version of the JB has been around for a while. But he still uses the original Les Paul spaced version that was released first on his strat. I guess that's part of his signature sound that he just doesn't want to tamper with.

I have this one in my charvel san dimas, but I have to tone it down a couple of notches as I find it a little too much on the treble, like it wants to dig the fillings out my teeth, but it is a no load tone pot, but tone is very much subjective and personal taste, nice playing and good classic rock and thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐱

Many thanks for watching and for your appreciation! I was worried about the unbalanced high tones before the JB installation, but I've to say that on Fender Stratocaster this JB Trembucker is really tone balanced and I was surpriced about the warm tones! Probably it depends from the guitar wood and the tone knob impedence, you can ask to some expert about it. I'm preparing a video comparison between JB and SSL-5 pickup both played with tone knob 10, you can listen it in the next days
