Great video and a great job and a great little power. Definitely have to get my hands on one of these for my FM9 fly rig.

Is there a difference in the sound when the eq knob is set to flat and when the eq on off switch is turned off ??????

Interesting, looks like an alternative to ISP Stealth Stereo. I have had it in my pedalboard for ages, this is smaller because it has a fan while ISP has passive cooling disipators.

Where are the mids? That tone would disappear quick in a mix.

would a preamp go in between guitar and the powerstage? or between powerstage and cabinet? basically i'm asking, is it: A. guitar preamp powerstage cabinet or B. guitar powerstage preamp cabinet which is it? also, factor in my pedalboard, which i have the ibanez pentatone preamp on. would it be: C. guitar pedalboard (preamp included) powerstage cabinet or D. guitar pedalboard powerstage preamp cabinet

Beware: the Power Stage 100 is NOT made for line level input. Seymour Duncan support confirmed that the gain stage is set for instrument level. Had to return mine as it doesn't like my Synergy preamp's line level output

That is disapointing. Not sure if you still looking for alternatives but I have used ISP Stealth Stereo for years already using an AMT SS-20 tube preamp in pedal format. If you call ISP to double check there is a good chance Buck who is the owner could take your call and answer your technical questions.

I'm a rookie to this. In what cases do I have to use line level input?
@Javier-qk7ms9 ай бұрын
@@nazarakgamer Sorry for hte long answer, trying to be useful. Every electronic device sends its outout signal as an voltage that changes in real time, just like your guitar sound would. The maximum variation of that voltate determines the output level, it is like "how loud" the output signal cal be. For exampe a guitar outup is pretty quite and very little power so if you connect that directly into a speaker you won't hear anything. The power amp has enough power and can be loud enough for a speaker to make a sound but it also needs to be able to hear an input signal strong enough other wise trying to make louder something quite is gonna be just a medium sound.,This is when the signal level comes into play. If the input of a power amp is sensitive enough it can listen to an guitar guitar and get a sound out of the speaker, but maybe it is not that sensitive so you need something in between to make that guitar sound louder, in the case of a guitar amplifyer that is the preamp section, preap makes guitar signal louder so the input of the power amp is loud enough and the output is again loud enough. As the audio electronics market want to connect devices from different vendors eventually the "signal levels" appeard, kind of defacto standards (like 9v from boss pedals, not writen anyweere but if you want your product to fit you design it to be compatible). In plan terms instrument level is a quite signal level that seems to be one of these defacto standars, anohter is "line level" which is waht you usually get from a mixer consoles output, which by the way you walways need to connect into a power amp to drive the PA cabs and happens to be pretty close to the output level of many guitar preamps (amp FX send, the synergy rack module, my AMT SS-20 pedal preamp). So for us who have used preamps to hear a power amp cannot work with a line level signal is a real deal breaker, because that means the preamp signal is too loud and the input of the power amp will distort it. As you may alreayd know a signal too loud into a SS circuit will not give you the kind of overdrive we like, it will be a very abrupt non-musical and useless distortion. Being that said, I tried to read the specs of this device and there is no info about what kind of singal level it uses. I think @RaxFx had to call tech support to get the answer.

You can check the AMP MOD for Temple Audio pedalboards. It does the same in a more compact way. It can fit in your hand.

Did they ever release that? I've not seen a single thing about them anywhere other than a few docs on their site. I would think Temple would be promoting the crap out of them.

Prolly and most likely the best way to get the most out of a decent multi/modeller ...but!!!!! it still needs to head out to an frfr when all's said and done....cute size, bit expensive but no sore back lugging around my Crown power amp for sure!
@NathanNagel3 ай бұрын
Late response, but if you turn off cab modeling in the modeler, you can go into a regular guitar cabinet. That’s how most people are using this. The cab sim on this is for the balanced outputs, not the amp outputs.

@@NathanNagel Yeah I'm only interested in its power amp capacity, I've already set my modeller to sound perfect via my current preferred 15x 2 way cabs as my stage rig....it sounds breathtaking already, I just like the idea of juicing it with a baby sized power-amp instead of my current Crown power amp.

The “preamp” is VERY clean. It’s only there to allow people to plug pedals in. It can easily handle line level signals without coloring them. Many artists are using these for their modelers.
