Hello everyone, hope you're all well! Quite probably my favourite hauls to create with a look at the new collection from Parisian brand Sezane:) Now I'm excited for Autumn! But you're right a good tailor could probably re-imagine this. I'm going to try them a size down as I love the shape and just see if I can lose an inch off the length but if that doesn't work I'll try with the tailor thank you:) Happy Sunday Dawn x

Never mind the long trousers with turn ups. What about some of the other trousers that also seem too long to me? I’ve been meaning to ask about this for ages… So many influencers seem to be wearing their trousers so long that they’re dragging on the ground. I appreciate this works when posing in a studio, and I see models wearing loose trousers this long on fashion sites too… but I always want to ask if they really walk around outside like that.

You don’t sound like a clothes nerd and you’re not waffling on, details are super-important on clothes and accessories, you should talk about them. Don’t put yourself down, we think you’re great! Also don’t worry about making longer videos, the more content the better. I don’t know who came up with the 10-15 minute limit video idea, but it’s nonsense, I happily watch long videos all the time, especially about wardrobes!

I would call that “sage green” shirt “aqua”, a lighter blue-green. It’s one of my favorite colors, my most flattering and I’m glad it’s finally available again. It looks great with the tan trousers, the contrasting tones are beautiful!

Hello Ms Jess, this video includes 3 things I adore: 1) You 😊❤️, 2) Clothing from Sezané & 3) Autumn 👏🏽👏🏽. The beautiful jewel green blouse is exquisite 🤩 (I would get all 3 colors 😬). You know, I realized I love various shades of green. A new shade to add to my neutral color palette. I have always loved raising the collar of a shirt. Monochromatic suit, brilliant 😉. I wish I was taller to pull off the skirt & knee boot look. I am only 5'1 & curvy. It looks so fantastic on you 👏🏽👏🏽. One of my favorite looks is a beige suit with a traditional leopard print top underneath. The leopard print skirt almost looks like polka dots which I love. Yes, must have many cardigans to choose from 👏🏽👏🏽. I purchase one in an apricot shade. I changed the buttons to gold ones & it elevated the look. The navy blazer is one of my absolute favourites, love it:) I sized up in that to make mine a little more oversized for reference. I have never tried the Austin trousers, but they look lovely. I was so excited to see that your video today was a Sezane haul! You were the one who introduced the brand to me and this past Summer, I took the plunge and purchased two of their blouses. My personal favourites from this haul are the 'navys'. The sweater, the coat and those gorgeous trousers (not sure if they are Sezane, but they are fantastic!). Yay, this 5'11 gal will be making a beeline for those overlong trousers, thank you Jess and thank you Sezane! You're right, because we tall women are the smallest demographic in terms of special sizing, nobody but the yuckiest fast fashion brands seems to cater for us. So I'm thrilled whenever I discover the odd "freak piece" at a quality retailer.

It's the same with petite - yes I know that in some cases I can turn things up, but in reality this isn't usually the case. Pocket placement or tapered/flared trousers mean that its rarely an option unless the trousers are straight legs. Jackets are too wide across the shoulders and buttons on the cuff mean shortening sleeves is nigh on impossible, and the cut usually is just off. Even some companies who do make petite clothing don't scale things down in a way that works. And I've never understood that achange in size (as opposed to height/length) would influence how long my legs are supposed to be! Oversized in the wrong way just swamps (like playing dress up as a child in my Mum's clothes), and imho looks just as bad as things that are too short (and aren't intentionally cropped). One company who seems to be really good at versitile fits is Me + Em - most of their trousers are designed to be both lengthened or shortened, and their jackets have deep cuffs that still look amazing when they're turned back - a bit spendy, but they're classics in my wardrobe (and I love their sales).❤

The bottle green Chloe is the top of my wish list (I have a Barry cardigan in that color)- I hope they have it available next week after my pay day. White trousers are my other favourite, however I am also 5’8 - it was so useful to see your try on (I am normally uk 8 in Sezane bottoms, but during ivf and hopefully in the first trimester soon I was thinking to size up)

Good morning, Jess. I am finding that pants, in general, are being designed with longer lengths. Even petite sizes have been longer than normal. You should consider taking the white trousers to a good tailor. We are similar in that when I find a beautiful, great fitting style, I will purchase it in several colors. The same with shoes. By the way, I too, am going for the green this season. I even purchased a beautiful pair of green suede ballet loafers from Tory Burch (they were on sale). I also have a pair of these in a beige leather because they are so stylish and comfortable. Heading to NYC next month, so I plan to visit the Sezane boutique there! Hi Diane, ooh I'm jealous of your upcoming trip to NYC! Have the most amazing time lovely:) I feel like brands are creating their trousers extra long as standard and assuming we will have to take them up? Perhaps so they can reach more people with one length that we need to adjust? I'm just guessing but it feels that way. With these ecru trousers I'm going to try the size down as there was a little room around the waist and I'm hopeful that takes off the length. But if not I shall take your advice and get them tailored. They're beautiful across the wait and hips so worth it I think. YES to buttons! When I was a little girl, I used to have my little button box that my grandmother gave me. It was full of buttons that she had kept over the years. I loved the colors. A happy memory that was prompted by your discussion of buttons, and how they make an outfit. I couldn’t agree more. Also, such a beautiful Sézane haul. Finding a chunky knit in cotton is quite difficult, I'm always on the lookout for one!! GAP has some decent basic ones but it's not easy to find ones with nice details. Love the one you picked up, i have an almost identical one by Ralph Lauren from last year. Baby blue is a color I'm willing to experiment with so i quite liked that cardigan! As for being picky with buttons, I too am a clothes nerd as you defined yourself and am currently going to change some buttons on a gorgeous blazer that for some reason has unsightly huge silver buttons! The blazer was too good to give up! 😂

I love that bottle-green, it’s such a classic color. I’m also looking for a suit that I can wear everyday, but I want to start with a neutral. I looked unsuccessfully for a white one this year, now I’m looking for a taupe one and I will try again in the spring for the white. (The bottle-green or navy are about as dark colors as I wear and I think navy is too corporate for what I have in mind).

I’ve been searching on Sezane quite a bit over the last week. The ecru trousers looked so good on you, it’s probably my favourite item you bought. You should have them taken up. I’m 5’10” and love finding long pants, but it’s a shame they don’t come in a colour I need. I can’t bring myself to buy bottle green however because it reminds me of my school uniform 😆 I love your long denim skirt, and I think I need to finally bite the bullet on the Frankie Shop Gelso trousers. 😍

Everything is so gorgeous Jess! I also have the Chloe shirt in navy and ecru and would love a third colour. Unfortunately that beautiful bottle green doesn't suit me but it looks fabulous on you, and amazing paired with the green suit. My favourite colour combo though is the sage shirt and camel trousers, a match made in heaven! Btw I have a pair of Lukas trousers from a previous season, the stone coloured tweedy ones, and I had them hemmed to retain the lovely turn up. Worth a try with yours? xx

Sézane are unbelievably good at the moment. So much so that I can’t make up my mind which pieces I like the most. The navy jumper with the lovely buttons is on my list. My only gripe with Sézane is the length of the trousers at 5 foot 4 most are a no no. Yes I can have them tailored but sometimes you would be cutting some of the design away especially on jeans. Green suit suits you forgive the pun

I have the same issue with trousers, tailoring only works for straight leg items, and even then depends on things like pocket placement. Somehow I always imagine that there are as many petite girls in France as there are in the UK, but they dont seem to be catered for!

At 5'2" I agree! I love the look of Sezane trousers, but I'd have to cut off so much fabric and then the cut of the leg wouldn't be right anyway. You'd almost have to have them reconstructed. I wish they offered petite lengths!
