It seems our society puts up with a whole lot of immorality on a daily basis. When immoral people are lifted up, it gives some people the feeling it's acceptable and they can get away with it.

Former Catholic , 12 years of Catholic education in San Francisco. Lots of priests and nuns in my family. Probably abused. Definitely groomed. It would help tremendously for my peace of mind to know if the priests I suspect had been “credibly accused”. By others. One is on the SNAP list but I have images buried in my memory of others. I went to my parents funerals. Leaving the last one I thought “Great. Now I’ll never have to set foot in a Catholic Church again.” And , given this epidemic of pedophilia and the stance this bishop is taking, won’t. Will this, if my education was correct, condemn me to hell? Maybe. Bit if so, I’ll get to meet and confront this bishop there. It will be worth it.
