They're not going to give her anything drastic like a command throw :( She's certainly making appearances in tournaments and I do find her fun as well so all's well that ends well I guess :)

I agree she does not need anything right now, actually she is currently my main since Juri is garbage, but if there is a reason to give a character a new move is to make it feel fresh in the last pacth she got a new move by the way an air target combo.

You can tell sfa 3 Karin is more aggressive while Karin from sf5 is more refined. Despite the similarities, they are very different from each other. I love it.

Yeah you can see Karin's matured into a fine lady, I guess the weight of running the Kanzuki Zaibatsu has tempered her somewhat :P

Main thing missing from a design standpoint is that look of casual smug superiority she has in many of her moves in SFA3, like her counters. It's a small detail but it goes a long way to establishing Karin's mentality and personality. Also her drillhair flops around way too much in 3D.

I miss her mean-looking of SFAIII. And the high dose of disdain expressed on her face. It was a MAJOR PART of her identity. Those things that made Karin special. D:

Well that was just a few pixels so was easier to interpret it like that although just comparing her A3 art to the SFV select screen she does seem to have "softened" a little, her eyes aren't quite as harsh as they used to be. Bear in mind she has grown up now, she's no longer the spoiled "ojousan" looking down her nose at everyone but is now the head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu, she's learned the hard way not to underestimate her opponents (like Sakura) but she certainly still carries that "holier than thou" attitude about her :P

Her face could be better but honestly think it's pretty good. Her eyes were a lot more angular/harsher in the manga so she was still softened up a little for the game :P For the first 3D model it works, she's supposed to be super beautiful whilst still looking quite young, it's a hard mix to get right :P I remember thinking SF4 Sakura was super cute, now the SF4 characters just look odd :P

Damn, at 10:20 her last strike of the CA went in perfect harmony with the music. Awesome! On a side note, if she still had her Alpha 3 counters/reversals, I think it would be a pretty big threat to an oponent trying to escape from her attacks. I mean, risking a knockdown situation for pressing buttons while defending seems scary.

Happy coincidence :) Counters are more of a defensive tool than an offensive tool, frame-traps are a bigger threat to pushing buttons at the wrong time :) I don't think counters would make her OP or even that much better, Kolin has them and they're not used all that often.

Fantastic video. It seems like Karin isn’t as complex in SFV, which is kind of a shame since her timing changes and counters were such a big part of her playstyle. Still, they did a great job bringing her back and I can’t wait for a chance to play SFV.

pretty similar to her first iteration but she was more aggressive in sfa3 360grab and permanent rekka. She is to bitchy in sf5 but quite good :)

+Pawastar Jade Yeah loss of her old tools really hurts her mix-up. Her current mix-ups are pretty weak if you know how to handle them, jabs counter everything other than the fast attacks so they're all weighted against her; if Karin guesses right she gets one hit at best, guesses wrong and eats a full combo at worst :/ Her real mix-ups now come from frame traps, s.LK is such a great tool for these. She still has great buttons and footsies though so she's still a moderately popular pick among pros :) Most importantly, she's still my girl and I still love her

Not me, I found her rekkas almost impossible to combo in A3, I'd trade that in for V-Trigger rekkas any day of the week :P I do miss the command throw and counters though :(

It's probably a nod to Lily taking inspiration from Karin :P In all honesty Lily's stance is more efficient than Karin's new stance. Karin's arms are by her side, Lily's are in front of her, Karin would require more movement to strike, block or trap in her stance. Her old stance was much more traditional martial arts, closer to say Taekwondo, which is one of the many styles she has mastered :)

Yup. She's lost the school uniform (same as Sakura's in Sakura Ganbaru comic as attended same school) and her standing in the Kanzuki Zaibatsu has changed from heiress to head :)

I think SFV is supposed to be a year after SFIV though you can't really put a lot of stock into time differences when it comes to the young characters :P Like the gap between Alpha 3 and 3rd Strike is supposed to be something like 5+ years but Sakura and Ibuki look the same age :P

I'm so confused by Karin and Sakura, is Karin still in school by the time of SFV? because she looks like she got out of school and she looks so grown up and so mature taking care of her family's classy business, meanwhile Sakura still has the student uniform as seen in the story.

Sakura's sailor uniform is part of her identity, I was kinda expecting a slightly reworked uniform but since she's not actually in the game there wasn't much need of them redesigning her I suppose. If you read Sakura Ganbaru she says how her sailor uniform is her fighter's uniform and she wears it everywhere, not just for school :) In the SF2 Aftermath Sakura short she has a discussion with her friend Kei about what to do after graduation, it'd be safe to assume they've graduated from school now :)

Yeah, it's probably a nod to Lili as Lili ripped off Karin's character :P Lili's stance makes more sense than Karin's though, she holds her arms out in front, probably a good stance for trapping. Whereas Karin holds her arms out to the side, it'll take more wasted movement and therefore time to use them for blocking and trapping.

Sugami hmmm.. lili have that stane since day one tekken5dr while Karin used to have a regular stance on her original appearance. Even in sv5 Karin is doing lilis idle pose and wearing lili ish costume. Other than being a rich girl with a butler , no part of Karin and Lili is the same. They have two diffrent fighting style.
