To be honest, I think nerfing Akuma is a terrible idea. His combo damage has been poor since V, and it is still poor now. The low damage is completely inconsistent with the setting of satsui no hadou. In addition, his health is low and he doesn't have particularly powerful moves. I really don't know what Capcom's intention is.

I don't think his damage is low, I think everyone can deal a lot of damage but Akuma just has more ways to deal damage compare to the rest of the cast. He is given tools that allow him to combo from basically every move he has and thus result in him having stronger offense then everybody. To balance, he only has 9k hp which is quite significant. They nerf his tools a bit but nothing major, I play him a few matches and honestly he still feels the exact same, though I do agree the nerf is not necessary as he is pretty balanced already.

@@swordsaint9712 I don't think he has a stronger offense compared to all characters at all, and characters such as Ryu, Dictator, and MARISA can deal significantly more damage than Akuma, and because Akuma's HP is so low, this gap will be worsened. . If the game really wants to show how powerful Satsui no hadou is, it should give him a set of combo damage that can surpass MARISA.
