Daigo was the only one that make Idom Sweat for the second time, his two matches ( EVO 2022 was Final Game, Final Round) and here in ECT2024 happen again.

Daigo is still so scary. He’s not in contention for number 1, but he’s so close at just changing the tournament outcome a lot of the times. Games 8 lcq? He also made it. This time? If he beat idom here, idom would obviously not get 2nd place and the entire top 8 changes. Ngl I feel his akuma is still not perfected. Which is saying something because he’s still getting results. This akuma reminds me a lot of his evil ryu, didn’t start off great (and people did doubt daigo using akuma), but as times goes on, daigo will meld with akuma and become the character.

Or increase the damage. I understand the glass cannon category, but to me his damage isn't particularly outstanding. He still seems a lot more glass than cannon.

@@azarel7 but he has several options, which other characters don't have and specific ways of punishing certain scenarios that make low health worth it, remember that he wouldn't be top-tier if he weren't a good character.

@@Andrew-cx2qk I agree he's a good character but when you're playing against other top tier players like Punk or iDom I think your gameplay/download has to be near perfect to consistently win and that's difficult. You still need to consistently outplay them, but they just need to hit you a few times and that's it. I feel this is why Daigo has been being blown up by random players as well. Kakeru for example was using Akuma during a final and was playing well but lost close games, so he had to switch to Bison. So I see what you mean, but I feel like most characters in the game have big damage combos, CA's etc, so to me, Akuma's damage isn't outstanding per se, but his health just evaporates. Just my opinion though.

​@@azarel7 his damage isn't the point of the character. Even in previous games his damage is quite average except for very situational scenarios. Even now most of his damage is in ex adamant flame in the corner and things are quite average everywhere else like many iterations of the character. His broken moves and options is what makes the low health worth it. Take his strike/throw game for example many people say it's the best in the game because you can't call out the crouch mp with any option and it leads to a guaranteed 4k damage in the corner. And this is just one of many examples.

Notice how Daigo went aggressive after Idom got first two set wins. Daigo easily got two consecutive set wins after then on the last set he got the second round & still went aggressive on third round. He could’ve won over Idom easily if he wanted to like he’s only having his lunch. I’m sure Idom knows that.
