You didnt mention the costume 3 dripp buff. And going into lvl3 from the stab flip is useful in the high level case where people perfect parry first hit and then go into drive impact. So its basically like luke

Ive seen hikaru canceling into the light slide to move backwards after a blocked hk. It seems like a good option to prevent yourself from being in a negative situation and could potentially set up some funky spacing traps. Interested to see how it evolves

Considering that the slide isn't invincible, the backward movement makes a much better defensive option.

I played about with AKI today and she feels so much better. Once people get used to it they're gonna be too frightened fo throw fireballs against her. As it is now the coward crouch dive is catching everyone. I'll be pleased if shes top tier as she's much better to watch than Luke and Ken etc.

didn't play for a couple months got back yesterday and dam she's alot stronger than before, the +1 on crouch medium kick was kind of unnecessary too strong of a buff

Almost everyone has a decent normal that's plus on block. Hers was her hop kick but that starts up in like 14 frames. Her having a medium that's plus 1 is fine and a good change when others have better cancellable ones at that

Aki and Juri are looking pretty good this patch, I guess we'll be playing the "I can fix her" meta now lol On another note, it's kinda funny Aki got a whole bible of buffs and Ed only got a safe cr jab

Aki got mega buffed. The changes to her frame data makes her so much threatening (2mk is kinda degen). She still has trouble in the corner though, and removing the level 1 invuln does hurt a bit, but shes in a much better place. Maybe not top 5, but arguably top 10 with these changes

The only change I don't like is the lvl 1 change, but I can live with that.

It seems it was a universal bug that they changed for every character's lvl 1

Lv 1 works exactly the same as it did before, it's still invulnerable to strike and throws on startup but loses to projectiles. In the patch notes they mentioned it was a single frame that was fully invincible, but that wasn't really relevant against projectiles because they typically linger on screen for a while. I think all this changes is that if you try to reversal Lv.1 a projectile now you will get hit before the super screen freeze, rather than after the freeze like in S1.

@@MVKBPR Ryu have specific setup when he can land hadouken at last frames to make it plus. Now you can't use lvl 1 to reversal from this setup.

@@Jonkin715 yeah it's a universal change, and I get it. Level 1s were too strong, so there's some counterplay but for characters without an invincible reversal the only option they have is DR, which is better but still punishable.

It's heavily punishable on block, while spin knuckle isn't. It's risk-reward balancing.

AKI is completely busted now ! She is easily top 5 now, probably top 1. She has no longer any weakness. She used to have a rough time against super zoners like Guile, now she can punish his booms on reactions. She has troubles against jump ins, now all her AA are top tier. She was already doing stupid damage, now she does even more with even more great buttons. Capcom clearly wants her to be the best character this season.
