If you guys want something super mean, after a heavy whip ender you can immediately dash forward into overheard which is meaty enough to combo with lp tc; OR If you’re in the corner you can immediate dash into drive impact which is meaty as hell and will beat everything except invincible reversal or a wake up impact. ⁠@@ahamay656no, after qcfHP, dash forward, as a frame kill, and drive impact, the frame data will make so the drive impact hits meaty in the wake up. It will beat jumps, block, wake up buttons, and lose to wake up di, parry, and super. It’s a bit trick to wake up di in response, but not that hard.

It's a good day when we get a Brian_Guide. Idk why but I find them so much easier to process than other character guides. And dropping at a good time too. I've been slowly clawing my way to diamond with AKI doing some of this stuff already, so it's super helpful to get a more comprehensive overview to get an idea of what I'm not doing.

Yo, if you still wanna frame trap after forward hk you can press light kick. If they block then no biggie, but on counterhit light kick can link to medium punch and then qcf heavy punch to go into combos or safe jump

This is what every combo guide should be! No one needs every single combo to start... i main kimberly and the amount of tutorials and combos to go through, to find some simple basics that are viable in real matches, is insane! I use 3 combos now: Hp, hp vagabond, hp airthrow Cr mp, mp hp, ex run, kick followup. Mid screen it gives you a safejump, corner you get wallsplat so run lk, lp vagabond lvl3, or spraycan setup or fw+hk to some resets.

i think you get the same safe jump and just hold down, visually confirm backroll / quick getup and press HP for quick and HK for back.

Something brian does is have these offensive knockdown flowcharts. I've seen his jp one on stream, wonder if it would be possible to write that out and draw the possible sequences?

On a lot of characters, if they do a fuzzy jab to beat the coward crouch mix, you can cancel into drill as a third layer and it'll blow it up. I'm sure there are some characters that will poke you out of it, but the ones I've tested with don't have particularly short jabs and they just eat it all the same. Definitely the most committal option, but sometimes letting them know you're a fucking psychopath can throw them way off their game.

The drill is just so risky though, you will eat a full 50-60% combo instead of a jab combo if they interrupt the command grab

You can also just delay the kick followup, which is much safer and gives you a counter hit combo

Training mode has a save state feature. I don't remember exactly where the option is (since this game's menus are so confusing), but you can set a button shortcut to "create save state" and another one to "load save state."

Brian-samaa need help with her juggle combos 😭. When you do the heavy whip while poisoned that puts them in the juggle state I drive rush into HK but when I cancel into any special moves to extend it only works sometimes and whiffs other times, what's going on😭.

If you drive rush HK into medium whip it always works. If you’re too far heavy whip will whiff. But you can get another safe jump setup if you do drive rush cr MP into heavy whip. Pretty sure that always works too.

So I still dont have this game but think I will soon. Aki looks interesting after playing some fang. A few other characters look cool also, but question to anyone. Who is the knowledge check character for lower levels. Scrubby question I know, but an answer would be cool.

If you want to knowledge check people at low ranks, try E Honda (his headbutt and butt slam are really strong and hard to beat until people figure out perfect parry) or Blanka (similar situation with his blanka ball attacks). Kimberly is probably harder to learn but also can carry you pretty far with knowledge checks. People won't block her run->low slide or her teleports.

​@@gaaalavantIve now played thru the entire roster (minus Ed and Rashid). Kim was cool, but difficult defensively. Honda and Blanka were quick to learn, but wouldnt main them because no personality. Since I dont play competitively I have decided on more than 2 characters and the list is looking like Manon, Sim, Aki, Juri, and Akuma when he comes.
