Bro as a jaime main lvl4 ain't even all that. Obviously I'll take it if you give it to me but it's not like I turn into goated necalli super sayan 3 in sf5. And obviusly snake eyez is too good but it's not even the flex that people think it is, that's like saying "yooo he let his lil cousin plug in the controller and still won."

@zackmilder9504 about the damage "buff" you have to keep in mind he starts with below average damage. At lvl 0 he does 90% damage scaling, lvl 1 95% and then level 2 finally you do normal damage at 100%. That means that not only does jamie have to literally unlock his damage, the buff is also only real at level 3 and 4. Which btw, the damage buff is okay when it is finally an actual buff, but that doesn't help jamie create opportunities in anyway. Like, I still have to hit you to feel the benefit of damage buff. The unlocking moves thing is painful pre-level 1 cause that's when you get jamie target combo which is key to success for him, and there's matchups where he can legit struggle so hard to even get the first drink. Level 4's strongest aspect by far is that he can "heal" od gauge, which is admitedly potentially super strong but that is not like a win condition in any way. It's sort of like a cool bonus. If you look at top jamie players, hardly ever do they actually sacrifice oki for drinks cause it's not worth it. I've even seen high rank jamies in tournament not drink at all, just because they got a good knockdown first and the momentum of putting pressure is just too valuable to just throw away.

@zackmilder9504 yeah to be fair I do actually think that he's pretty good, I hate downplaying, especially my own main, and if I had the chance there's really not much I would do to change him. People talk a lot about him being able to carry over drinks between rounds but that's not the way he was designed. You'd have to remake the character entirely, plus that's not even a real issue. I think that if he started with 95% dmg scaling at lvl 0, get 100% at level two and then end up with 115% at level 4 (as opposed to 110%), he'd honestly be good for life imo, maybe even rank up to high tier. Either that or let him get his target combo from round start. Another thing is that some of his combos are ridiculously finnicky for no reason. I would change that as quality of life too. If capcom wanted to give him more crazy buffs for some reason I would trade them for reducing his damage on double palm at lvl 4, which is admitedly ridiculously strong, jesus. But the problem is that jamie is just sort of designed to be weak cause BECAUSE he gains that massive double palm and it's just stupid. I think if you asked every jamie player in the world if they would rather have something like better frame data in lvl4 (which he doesn't really get) instead of just stupid damage, they would totally take the first option.

Making him not a very good character plus he is a grappler they need a lot of mind games or how will you even land your spd. Like ofc any character can be played at a high level if the player themselves is good but other characters just is easier to play than gief for those good players.

balanced character is balanced... 20 hits hes at half hp... gets 3 hits so he wins. he can grab outside of his grabs range. you can see it several times in the video his hand too short to the target...so it grabs anyways. sf6 is another example of how all modern games are bad, because no matter what a company does wrong, people still feed them money as if they just made the worlds greatest game
