“2 out of 3. Not bad.” One of my favourite bits from the series.

Zaheer suffocating the Earth Queen was legitimately shocking. So much so that in a future episode, many fans thought that a major character had been killed off.

Disfigured by the Shitty Relatives Club? I never realized that Zuko and Lin had that in common until now. We’ll count Tonraq as an honorary member for the emotional disfigurement his shitty brother gave him.

Can I just say that I love how badass Asami is in this episode. She escapes, frees Korra, fixes a downed airship, builds a makeshift sandsailer all while working with Korra perfectly. Meanwhile Mako can't even think to burn off the ropes holding him and is only freed because the villains want him to deliver a message to Korra. Gee I wonder why Asami is so popular even when you take her relationship with Korra out of the mix?

Personally, I think Asami should've been the main character rather than Korra at this point. She seems more likeable and competent.
@Winter-The-Masquerade19 күн бұрын
@@mikegates8993 I disagree, I think Korra is a great character with an well written arc. Instead I think Asami should have been the deuteragonist and given more focus. Like have the first season be about Korra, Asami, Tenzin and Lin along with the two villains and just change it to where Korra and Asami were friends before the events of the series. Have Mako and Bolin out for the first season and have they show up in season 2 onward but as mostly supporting characters. Asami has a more interesting arc and a more fleshed out relationship with Korra so just make her the shows second main character.

Seeing the Earth Queen die was genuinely shocking. Yes, she was an arrogant and entitled character. But seeing her die was still unexpected. Zaheer was my favorite Korra antagonist. He was determined and extremely dangerous (even before he got bending). Once he got Air Bending, he was next level dangerous. And in the end, loosing the love of his life actually helped him. He didn't lose himself in grief, he actually learned to let go. I honestly wouldn't want to face him.

Show's why it's a good thing the Air Benders were pacifists. Between the potential of their bending without morals to hold them back and their air superiority prior to the Fire Nation developing airships, they'd have been really dangerous if they ever decided to become imperialistic. I'd say they might've been even more dangerous than the Water Tribes if Blood Bending had been more common, at least according to the logic of Avatar, it required a full moon for most people, unless I'm misremembering.
@NobodyC1317 күн бұрын
@@mikegates8993 You're right that most waterbenders require the full moon to reach their potential in bloodbending, Until Yakone and his children found a way to do without.

Oh I get it, the title is ironic, Long Live The Queen and the Queen dies this episode. She was a Captial B-itch but that was still a pretty gruesome death, a scary application of airbending.

Airbending might be the most deadly form of bending there is. Think of all the dead firebenders surrounding Gyatso. And there´s something I learned in a safety training. A 0,6 bar sudden pressure change rips your lungs...now think of that scene again and wonder, how did these soldiers die when they cornered the old monk?
@NobodyC1317 күн бұрын
@@SirMarshalHaig And fire requires oxygen to burn. Monk Gyatso more than likely created a vacuum in the room to stop their firebending (and breathing).

You forget that Chuck (and honestly everyone else at this point) has seen far more (actually) shocking things. If anything that wasn't shocking, the Queen had it coming, it was poetic justice at its finest.

I must say, I was never a big fan of your Korra reviews. There is so little analysis and insight in them, just mostly pretty extensive recaps with some snark sprinkled in.
@sfdebrisred655519 күн бұрын
One of the problems I have with Korra is that there is a length issue with the bots. If you've seen a Korra video with the titles and/or closing stripped off, that's a case where I had to cut it down to become acceptable. So I save the analysis material to put up separately. I actually was going to put one up today, but I stood in line for 1 hour 45 minutes voting yesterday and was too exhausted and sore to work on it, so it'll go up tomorrow.
