That is so true adult SFF does not get enough love on booktube! There are so many things adult SFF has to offer that YA books are simply not long enough to include!

I really appreciate you taking the time to compile these lists every year. It's such a great resource. Some of these I heard about myself, but you always manage to highlight titles that would otherwise fly under the radar. For your fantasy list, I think I'm most interested in Black Leopard Red Wolf. And I can't wait for part two. I know your Science Fiction list is going to explode my TBR.

Nice list, I'll be checking these out. I can't wait for the next Lawrence Book of the Ancester novel, and hopefully Rothfuss will finish the third Kingkiller book in the next 5 years or so

NEW GUY GAVRIEL KAY! And other great stuff too, some of which I'd already heard about, some of which was new to me. Thank you for these anticipated videos, they're a great help!

Here’s another vote for Black Leopard, Red Wolf. I love that the sequels will tell the same story from two other POV’s. He was apparently stuck on whose story it would be and someone explained the plot of the show ‘The Affair’ to him. He never sat down and watched it but was inspired by it to have the same story form three different POV’s. I’ve never seen the show either, but however he got the idea- I think it’s going to be brilliant. The last book I finished was A Brief History on Seven Killings simply in preparation for this new novel, as I wanted to learn his style. It’s in my top 5 books I read this year.

I just got my own anticipated releases video posted, and we've got a lot of overlap, but you've got a lot of more epic-style stuff here that wasn't on my radar! I'll bet you'll have a lot in your science fiction video that I won't have heard of yet! The new Jemisin definitely would have been on my list, but I couldn't find conclusive publication info on it. Goodreads and Amazon have contradictory dates, and there's nothing on the Orbit website, so I decided to hold off.

I'm American, and I think the way we list dates is incredibly illogical. Maybe someday it'll be standardized.
@kittymachine37985 жыл бұрын
@Linaa Skye Reads Oh, it's simple. It's not about the way we say the date is the way we write it, it's about how Americans express a date vs the way Europeans do. And although I'm familiar and comfortable with how we do it, I think the European's way is better. Because logically it would make sense to state a date in ascending or descending order, between larger and smaller units of time. To start with the month, then jump down to the day, then back up to the year is kinda weird when you think about it. It's inconsistent, within the way we measure time. I hope that makes sense!
