I just finished reading this book and it was exceptionally good. Well-crafted, captivating and thrill-inducing from start to finish. It was a real pleasure to peal away the different layers of mystery. Thank you sir, it was your review 4 months ago that brought this to my attention.

I just finished this book in two sittings. Could not put it down. It's the best book I've read in a while and the imagery of "the Fisherman's catch" is still with me. There's a lot I want to say, but don't want to spoil anything. Also just happens that I'm about to take up fishing in my own life. No way my friend could have known that when he bought me this book for my birthday lol. Here's to sticking to the rivers and streams I'm used to!

In my quest to prepare to write a Horror novel that delves into the theme of Grief with Lovecraftian undertones, I found this book and your review here. I know this upload is many years old now, but I also really like the Alcest shirt you're wearing! Great music!

I found this to be a super read and very literary. My copy from the U.S did have a couple of typo errors,but certainly this is a book I could EASILY read again and get something else out of it. I would dearly love to see a hardcover of this published.

I am so excited for this. I have read a few things by Langan in the past, and really like them all. For some reason though, it is one of those books on Amazon that is listed as "Takes 1 to 4 weeks to ship", so I have not ordered it yet. This review is so good, I think I will have to try to search it out in a book store today. Hopefully I can find it. Thanks, I really enjoy your videos, and I am really looking forward to all the horror reviews, since that is a majority of what I read. Well, this kind of horror anyway.

It's from a smaller publisher, but it's still a little strange to have a 1-4 week window. Maybe they need to restock?

Off topic and my apologies for that but I notice R. Scott Bakker's Prince of Nothing series on your shelf. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on that. Great review here too thanks.

Great review! I've never heard of this book but it sounds amazing. Adding it to my TBR - I'm always in search of good literary horror. Is there any similarity in theme to Pet Semetary - that "sometimes the dead are better left dead?"
@SFF1808 жыл бұрын
Similar in theme, but the story here is so much richer in building its mythology, less reliant on pushing emotional buttons.
