@nakikiusolang Momochi's demon flip at that moment was the hammer first one, which has very fast recovery time. If you looks closely you can see his palm come out right before he lands and starts the combo with the C MK. He used the demon flip to get to Daigo's feet before he recovered off hit stun from the air hadokens. It's not so much hard to perform as it is hard to anticipate and react off the opportunity. It's another skill that makes momochi such a competitive player.

This match truly shows the beauty of the game. The characters are so different that a match can not be won through sheer skill, but requires tactical thinking. Normally the Hadouken is a great tool to set the pace, close ground or make inexperienced players jump right into a Shoryuken (ouch), but Momochi uses the air Hadouken to take away the initiative from Daigo, who manages to effectively counter it only in the first round. Daigo's inability to adjust tactics finnally costs him the match.

I just love how gouki's fire hadoukens prevented daigo from spamming hadoukens so much in the first round. Hadouken lockdown.

2:14 Brilliant judgment right there. Not using the ultra, instead going for a combo that raises his super meter, and winning the round as well. Well played, Momochi.
@Super782615 жыл бұрын
Also, I may add that a player who is zoning isn't expecting for their opponent to stay in one spot during the remainder of that match. They anticipate the opponents next move upon releasing a hadoken according to their opponent's play style.

Do remember that the video was taken in 2008, when everybody's just beginning to try out SFIV, probing here and there for any linkable moves and common tactics used by opponents. I rmb Daigo was caught many times by gouki's air hadoken then. Nearer present, he has adapted to that weakness of his.

Yeah, that 15 hit combo was crazy.
@bluasterisk15 жыл бұрын
If you know what a zoning tactic is, Momochi was trying to bait Daigo in with Hadoukens, If you notice Tatsumaki makes you glide down a bit, so Daigo was somewhat being careful, and if daigo jumped in then he would have gotten Shoryuken'ed. You kinda need to think of what the players are thinking of and why they are doing what they are doing.

What he did there was he did the throw command before he got to Ryu so that it whiffed and the immediately did cr. forward xx lk. hurricane kick. So really he didn't use the actual slide. It's a pretty complex mind game setup and Momochi is godly at them when you really start looking for all the little things.

I love that combo that Momochi does, I don't even need to describe it because you all know what im talking about. He did it when Daigo was dazed. Also, I love how daigo gets people with his super. He finds the perfect time.

Wow, Daigo is like a robot. He encountered two throws.
@bj89515 жыл бұрын
yeah, same with the fist too. the fireballs add frames to the jump, making it slower, but ,momochi uses it to an advantage by throwing em in the latter half of his back jump arc so theyre safe. most ryus will throw ultras towards a back jump-> ex fireball on the first half of the arc cause it connects, cause akuma cant block, but on th eback half its safe and can be blocked. I've also noticed that the fist is a better option for flip cancelling because it has a hit box

Turtling and Zoning are two different strategies actually--turtling being more on the defensive side. Zoning-you're attacking, and controlling space, but at the same time anticipating your opponents next attack and punishing. Turtling-you're basically playing it safe. Most turtles crouch and wait for the opponent to make a mistake. They aren't my terms by the way, these have been around since SF2.

To answer at the video description question, it's the game style of each player... Some are doing same tactics all the time, some are ending with a cheap finish, some are turtling. Daigo is not perfect on every aspect of the game but i admire the way he keeps going attacking and trying to put some pressure. Well Momochi seems to be good at zoning, good job.

Akuma's air fireball totally screws up Daigo's ability to attack. Plus, he is very patient, and mixes up his straight up jump with the air fireball so it makes it difficult to predict. Akuma's air fireball to jab, spin kick and uppercut is an effective and low risk combo that Momochi pulls off perfectly every time! He seems to own Daigo in this matchup!

@ PSTRIPPLEE when you cancel the shoryuken using the focus cancel, first you have to make sure you have something in your super meter to do the cancellation. Then all you have to do is do the shoryuken, then you have to focus cancel and dash at the same time. So, Shoryuken, Cancel by holding MP and MK, then tap forward twice while in the stance to dash. Lastly, Input the Metsu Hadouken and you have him, but timing is key. He must be at the peak of his fall to make the move connect. Good Luck

Look at how Daigo lost the round at 3:32. I think he meant to Shoryuken but used Hadouken instead by accident (the keys for those 2 moves are very close to each other). Lost him the round, but I still think Momochi would've won either way. :P

I don't want to make this sound offensive, but doing an Ultra Raging Demon while your opponent is stunned seems to be more of a noob move someone would use to end the match, and Momochi clearly isn't a noob. He plays Akuma so effectively that he doesn't really need to use an Ultra. Its there for him when he needs it in other situations but from what I've seen with him in this match and others, and in those videos, I haven't seen him even attempt it.

Daigo actually played it right in this set imo, He tries to zone kill Akuma (Zoning is a classic strategy where Shotokan characters "Ryu,Ken" continually use hadokens to control the horizontal space and shoryukens to control the vertical space against a character like akuma 1 mess up would've been destructive but seems Momochi taught Daigo he has to work on his Zoning Strategy

sure if you do it after a short combo it gives +80. But mostly it might not be worth it unless you have the ex advantage. Ie. vs Ryu it will bother u a lot if enemy gets super while you got only 0 or 1 bar after you've done that combo. But with ex adv &/ finish it's a very nice addition.

Basicallly, all u guys fell in love with Daigo in that K v C-L match. I think 3rd round of that match was a little 2 flashy on D's part, Justin went 4 a careless guard crush tactic as Ken's hp was like 1,btw I say careless cause of the distance between K and C-L wen he did it. Honestly Daigo could've easily leaped over C-L and done his thing but decided to show off with it...
