I caught over 300 bows this summer thanks to your sharing of fishing knowledge. Right before freeze up here in AK I throat pumped a fish expecting to find scuds. Nope, its stomach was full of tiny 3mm baby clams, I never knew them to feed on them, I know they eat snails. Can't wait until next spring to try this new pattern, thanks guys.

Love your show!! Hey, of all the excellent information you continuously share....how heavy are the anchors and how long a line do you use to restrain boat movement? I imagine they are much longer in deeper water to achieve a boat holding angle...?? Trying to detect soft strikes on a slow retrieve with a sinking line...I hate to miss my opportunity because I am not doing everything I can....!! Thanks just jim

We use 15lb anchors and have various lengths of ropes. Generally, we take our 40ft lengths for most of the shoals and drop offs we fish but do have 100ft lengths for the rare times when we Deep Line Chironomid.

Hello Don, I have moved to BC in late 2019 from Ontario and have watch your show for years on TV. Now I am watching it on TV in BC and on KZbin. Great shows always. I have never heard the term "Marl" shoals or flats. What exactly is it? Thanks, Mohamed

Marl or marlstone is a carbonate-rich mud or mudstone which contains variable amounts of clays and silt. Some insects, like Chironomids and Scuds, love to live in the Marl, which is way the fish cruise these large Marl flats looking for food.
