One note on Sledghammer as it was very poorly worded in the notes is that you can cancel the parry into special moves. Before you could only cancel parry into parry. So he can punish a parried jab with ex chop if he wants to spend the meter.

I'm honestly surprised they made his stomp -2 now. The real problem for that move was its wonky hurt box, which they fixed in a lot of aspects in this patch, but they also made it safe. He really feels like he's gonna be scary this patch with all these other changes and I'm very excited to get to play him.

In my state you are required by law to do Alex's Lariat a minimum of 5 times.

4:46 you now end that combo in EX or light flash chop. A more optimal and corner carrying big damage activation combo. You can do it from any V trigger or vskill so you can start this after a CC big boot from vskill 1 for big 1 bar 430 damage!

Nah, i'm a huge Alex fan but i don't expect to see him in 6. Probably not even as dlc. I think 6 is gonna focus more on new characters and hopefully bring back some sf4 homies like C. Viper

I would hope so but I doubt it. While alex is a unique char, charge grappler, someone like kage is a generic shoto I doubt we weill see him again, or ryu is the proto shoto.

EX flash chop buff is huge. Huge conversions and corner carry from VT cancel. Huge + frames into VT cancel on block. Covers both knockdowns on double dash. Juggles in the corner. It was already only -2 on block. It might be the best EX move in the game atm. HK air knee is way too good, it's pretty much EX knee from last season with no meter cost minus oki. It trivializes a lot of air approaches. EX knee is probably the best AA DP in the game right now, great oki, can crosscut and no CC counter state. Alex might actually be the best heavy brawler surpassing Abigail, so I'm expecting some emergency patch with shadow nerfs eventually.

Alex can really corner fuck people hard now with his range and EX flash chop. He could do it anyway but after these buffs he is deadly in the corner, especially with vskill 1, you can loop them into a kind of vortex.

If we're talking in competitive play, yes. Online in ranked its very possible to rank up with him to a decently high level. But offline he really struggled in the nuetral and didn't keep his pressure well. He definitely feels like a finished character now though. Instead of a gorilla with holes in it, he feels like the perfect gorilla, and I love it.

He was high mid season 1 and they absolutely murdered him in season 2 for no reason. The only season 2 changes that haven't been reverted are his AA jab and the whiff recovery on c.mp. He's been solid since season 4 though. I'm genuinely surprised they gave him half of this stuff.

he was never weak, he does a lot of damage, command grab, is a faster zangief. i know a guy who plays akuma for 3 years and always struggles against alex. he is grand master and always loses against alex
