SFV: Urien Tips - Beginner Combos

After YEARS I decided I’m gonna get back into SFV and pick up a hard character and really try and get good, I decided to go with Urien and I’m glad I did, this tutorial was VERY helpful. Thank you!

I'm still trying to understand how to cancel into chrage moves Any tips?

Thanks for the question :) 1) Always hold down-back (db) when charging if possible as charges both down and back charge moves. 2) Alwasy be charging when you are not doing anything else, e.g. immediately hold db after jumping. 3) Make sure you are charging long enough :) Go into training room and just sit in front of the dummy holding db, then try the special cancel e.g. db+LP to f+LK. Get used to how long you need to be charging, I believe it varies for move and character. With Killer Straight to H Chariot Tackle you can see I am charging back by holding db, then I move from db to b and push LP > MP then move to forward and push HK. I don't like charge characters myself as I can't put myself in the mindset of always charging when not doing anything :)

It seems tha Urien is a kinda of a complicated character, unlike Ken or Ryu, that seems more simple characters, Urien looks do be a more methodical character... It's gonna be fun triyng to learm how to play with him haha

Only bummer is that there's not a single low starter combo.

I believe he has c.LK > c.LP hit-confirm and cancel into Headbutt but that's more of an intermediate combo so not included here :)
