I haven't played Resident Evil Zero since 2006 or so, and seeing Billy Max Payne Bullet time those leeches made super happy in a dumb way. This game is something.

I agree with you Johnny that this game and REmake HD still look good but imo this look better due to they touch up the pre-rendered background and some other asset while in REmake HD they just upscaled it which make some pre-rendered background look blurry as result.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Some things I wanna say: 1) I'm alright with Rebecca's voice here... but her Umbrella Chronicles voice is simply grating. 2) I hope they touch on this later, but I absolutely hated the "No item box" gimmick the game has. It makes backtracking a real chore. 3) Those door animations seem to have wonky artifacts around them, almost as if they were ripped straight out of the GameCube version without even attempting to upscale them.

About square being the menu button. That is actually in line with the original intent regarding the PS button design. O/X for yes/no or confirm/cancel, square for menus because a it kinda looks like a window border, and triangle for camera controls, since it can be seen as an arrow showing where the player is facing. I know that was the original intent, but it was all moot, because even in the SNES days the menu button was either Start, Select or the top face-button and gamers were more familiar with that setup.

Resident Evil never fails to have a silly plot with a strange/weird villain. Good to see it's still using those B-Horror movie tropes... which eventually turn into B-Action movie tropes. And Resident Evil Revelations 2 brings the character switching mechanic back and, from what I've seen from Zero, makes it better.

With regards to the controls (more specifically "O/B" set to run and "Square/X" set to inventory), you are able to rebind the buttons and save them as a selectable setting on the Xbox One version of the game and make it feel more like the other games. It's something done in the console settings and not in the game itself, however. I'm pretty sure the PlayStation 4 has a feature like that too, but I don't own a PS4 so I can't confirm this.

Finally the game that signifies the closeness of the REAL reason I'm here...Kingdom hearts 2. Okay listen. I have no care or affection towards the Resident Evil series. So this is just an "interim" playthrough of sorts for me. I'm still going to watch it because there's a good chance that SGB will make it entertaining regardless...But considering what happened with Dead Space and how it petered out?...I don't have the highest of hopes.

Re4 make me love the series but this one show me that the Resident Evil series are fun even if you don't like the controls cuz let's face it tank controls are something in the past. however they work fine on the Resident Evil series

Resident Evil 0 and 1 are my two favorites personally. I remember playing this one at my uncle's house and it was a project between us two to figure out all the puzzles and beat it while getting stoned, we took a year to do it, but we did and we liked the graphics, even to this day the graphics on it and the REmake are amazing imo.

Oooh this game..this freaking RE game > . < argh okay raised of hands! Who here had made it to the near end of the game after getting past the one annoying puzzle filled with water and being outside. You have no more Ink ribbons to spare and knowing the safe room is just only mere five screens away from you, you about to finish the area only to then get jumped and suddenly getting killed by a Giant frog monster, who somehow instant kills you and swallows your character! Though having the brief moment of freeing them only for your A,I partner just standing there doing nothing to help you! God that was game breaking for me and had me quit the game entirely, never again had I gone back to this game -_-.

Dragonpit I wouldn't be surprised if the HD collection can't get pass that part. Because some disc's will have the slightest finger print or scratch that will stop the game from proceeding. If we go back to Sly 2, Elliot mentioned his PS2 version kept freezing on the title card of "A Starry Eyed Encounter".

Have to admit,for all the shit capcom pulls, Ithink they did their HD remasters of 1 and 0 really well.They actually look like something with a HD facelift and actually made it look like it fit compared to a lot of HD "remasters" which just up the res and put it on higher consoles. $25 costume packs though? Lelno. never change capcom. Actually do change, that's kinda obnoxious, but at least it's optional cosmetic shit. Lets just try to keep it that way and not head into real obnoxious levels.
