The fourth iteration of the Nintendo's slobberknocking franchise invades two consoles this time, the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. This week, we're starting off the handheld version, and duke it out selection of stages it offers.

Lucina's alternative colors are based off of the characters from Fire Emblem: Awakening. This means that the color John picked wasn't a Terra color, but a Tiki color.

In my opinion I think Smash 4 has the perfect speed. It's not too fast like Melee and too slow like Brawl. It's a happy balance.

Shulk main here. Not saying I'm the best but I do think I know how to use the Monado Arts: Jump (Green) - At times can be your most deadly art. It's great for sending opponents off the stage or in the air and keeping them there. Speed (Blue) - What I usually use at the beginning of a match. Shulk can pivot grab like a champ in Speed mode so it makes it incredibly easy to combo. Shield (Yellow) - Self explanatory. Just use this when you're at higher percent. Buster (Purple) - I usually follow Speed up with this. An opponent can go from 20% to 90% in seconds. Smash (Red) - My least used art and for good reason. It's the ultimate risk VS reward. Pretty much use this as a last resort. So yeah...I love Shulk.

I'm a Shulk main as well. I always go straight to Buster to build up damage, and then Smash to launch them. I use the other Monado arts situationally.

The Little Mac hate subsided pretty substantially when people realized they could stand next to the ledge and shield grab him, then gimp him once he was off stage. I think the new stigma is counter characters being all over the game and Bowser being invulnerable even to disjointed hitboxes and counters on his up-smash so a good Bowser will just never let you land and there's not a goddamned thing you can do about it.

While I do prefer the Wii U version because it is the definitive version and I find it more comfortable to play (GC controller FTW), I think the 3DS version is also really good. It proves that Smash Bros games can work on a handheld system and it also has Smash Run which beats the crap out of Smash Tour IMO.

I hear she's actually good, but it's a bit difficult to use her because most of her moves have slow start ups (though a patch recently fixed some of those). On the launch of Smash 4 3DS, we all figured there was cell phone interference throwing us off when playing the demo. So we turned our cells off, and sure enough, we were local lag free all night. Strange, I know. Could that be the reason for the local lag possibly?

Shulk in a nutshell: Use Buster (Purple) to rack up damage quickly, then switch to Smash (Red) to finish them off. Use Shield (Yellow) to become harder to kill when you're at high percentages yourself. Use Jump (Green) and Run (Blue) to navigate the arena easier. Obviously the latter two options aren't so useful if you're playing on the Omega Forms. Robin in a nutshell: Juggle between using the Levin Sword, Thunder and Elfire (Neutral B and Side B respectively) as best as you can so that when one breaks, you still have the other to rely on until the first recharges. Don't use Elwind (Up B) too much cause you need it for recovery, but don't be shy about using Nosferatu (Down B) to drain HP from your opponent if you're hurting. And because she was mentioned, Palutena's default moveset in a nutshell: Use Autoreticule (Neutral B) to rack up potshot damage at long range, use Warp (Up B) to get away when the enemy has closed the distance. Make good use of her two counter moves to punish enemies, and remember that Reflect (Side B) has a push effect. Palutena's default moves are all about zoning, so if you charge headlong with her like a dumbass, you're doing it wrong.

If you think Shulk can be resumed in 4 lines, you're playing him wrong, and are probably one of these players who use nothing but Back Slash and are surprised when people just dodge out of the way.

When I first started maining Shulk that was the way I used him, But nowdays, I use Buster and Smash a lot less even at the start of the battle, Jump is incredibly good to harass oppoents off the stage, and obviously to recover. The only consistent art for any shulk player is Shield at high percentages.

The Local Lag issues are because you aren't pointing the IR Emmitters in a circle of sorts to allow the 3ds's to communicate easier. They can't use local Wi-Fi to communicate for local matches unless you did online mode, which may be less laggy in general if you are all on the same internet connection.

To me, I love the customization, but I don't really like the fact that the alternate B Button moves for the fighters are not available at the start (except for the Mii Fighters) and you have to unlock them. To me, that's an annoying hassle and it would have been better if all of them were available at the start so that I could do more customization.

I think it was intended so that new players didnt feel overwhelmed with so many alternate moves of a character's moveset, but it could've been handled better. maybe if you spent a certain time with a certain character you could unlock the alternate moves that way? or maybe buy them if you still have coins

*HELP!!* This strange thing happens to me when I boot up my physical copy of Smash for Wii U. It skips the opening cinematic and jumps straight to the title screen. Today it even happened that I heard the first 2 seconds of the intro, then it skipped straight to the title screen again. Have others had this problem too? Is this a glitch? Other than that the game works perfectly for me. Sometimes if I'm lucky it will even play the opening.

Steve Spud Really depends on the person playing them. I'm gonna be the generic guy who stays true to my all time favorite gamecube game, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. As time goes by, the flaws in the game stand out more and more, but if you get down to it, the meh graphics, the poor audio sync when it comes to the voices, and the somewhat jumpy storyline all just add to the charm of it. Some people will write it off for that, but hell, it's most definitely still one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed Shadow the hedgehog existing, no matter how pointless he is, and I for damn sure enjoyed the gameplay. xD In my own personal -heavily biased- opinion, I find Sonic Adventure 2 Battle to be an excellent game, regardless of what some people say. (Including Egoraptor, who takes every chance he gets to shit on 3D Sonic games because he's an asshole.) I've never played Generations, but as far as I know, the game was very well received. Colors was too gimmicky for me, but some people are into that stuff. All in all, the quality of a game comes down to each individual's opinion of it. This entire comment was unnecessary and long, but if you read it, thanks I guess. xD
