Not sure why sg AD did not bring in petrol version of kia/hyundai low spec sedans. The reason why korean cars are popular in sg is because of the cheaper price with lots of tech. Who will even buy Avante hybrid (although with multi-link rear) with that price tag when the petrol version is so much cheaper. Just import back Avante & Cerato petrol.

Because by bringing in petrol version it may be subjected to the VES surcharge which was tightened even further this year.

I know but Why people are saying no bring in ICE cars when so many jap and continental cars are still being brought in and sell. Is definitely not the reason

Looking at the prevailing car prices, how much cheaper is your 'so much' that entices AD to bring in petrol version only?

The new front end looks sexy. I like the new LED signals in the front. Would've preferred to still have the dark chrome grille on the front though. But as you said, it has very minor shortcomings such as the removal of passenger electric seat but still I agree with how amazing this car is. Let's not forget the huge advantage of a hybrid engine and multi-link rear suspension.

They also changed the interior lights to halogen. So stingy 😢

@@AtLwB Nope, the interior light has always been halogen. I drive a 2021 CN7 (The one JayJay previously owned as well). It originally comes with orange halogen lights. I had to change to LED white at outside workshop. I agree they are cutting some features to keep costs low but it is so stingy indeed.

I actually preferred the more aggressive look of the pre-facelifted model. I wished Hyundai kept that chassis when they did the Hybrid one as well as offer more engine options like a Turbo Hybrid offered in the 2024 Santa Fe.

The purpose is to keep it in Cat A, no way it will bring in there turbo hybrid even if there was an option. Back then avante were on 2L NA but they brought in the 1.6 and downtune it just for Cat A

@@MusicHavenSG I dont think most buyers of this brand would go for cat B. people that buy in this category of cars are more value oriented/price conscious. catB option wont sell well. I agree, the pre-facelifted looks much better to me as well

@@MusicHavenSG imagine if the 1.6 hybrid cat A is selling at 170k, I would imagine the 2.0+CATB coe will sell at somewhere around 190-200k at least. now this presents 2 problems. 1. this is entry level BMW/Merc/conti category 2. people buying Hyundai aint having the budget for 200k cars(or they wont be looking at hynundai)

I really like the DCT and multilink suspension and of course the fuel savings from the hybrid system. A pity there’s still no 10.25 inch touchscreen and they had to forego some features due to pricing. A great car nonetheless

10.25 inch or larger screens are common nowadays in new cars and not considered particularly huge. It's not about the size of the screen, but whether the driver pays attention on the road.

Damnnnn for that price of the car, nothing is worth it. Even if The car can be the most powerful the most fuel efficient car in the world with fuel consumption of 50KM/L 10 years free servicing 10 year free road toax 10 year free petrol, with that price of the car it will never be worth it spending that amount for a car in Singapore. Such a shame just 4-5 years back before covid you can get this car probably for just $80k+ and thats minus $100k now. Really such a shame this is the norm now. 😢😢😢

180K >>> Korean car + 10.5 secs .......wow crazy how the prices are in 4yrs. even the used car prices for the petrol version is 12-14K depreciation per yr. Crazzzzzy

I cannot stand CVT transmission. DCT is the way to go. Wonder why they couldn't add the 7 Sp DCT from the i30. Having an additional gear makes a lot of difference.

I actually did experience it as a the pre-facelift Avante owner for about a year. I had an uneven stitch in my steering wheel and they replaced the entire set. Servicing was pretty typical under warranty, and I also got the sport pedals for $15 from their after sales e-mailer. So my experience was rather pleasant. - Jay
