Welcome to Kim E. The Diabetes NP Channel!!! My name is Kim E. and I have a love and passion for prediabetes and Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. I went on a journey a while ago to build upon my knowledge of the disease and found it difficult to find concise and useful information. I realized at that moment that we, as nurse practitioners, needed a resource like this. As I began learning more about the disease and the new advances in education and management, I wanted to be apart of the solution for my fellow colleagues. If this is something that interests you, please come along with me as we grow in our knowledge of Diabetes to better serve our patients. Submit questions & video requests to info@ellisdiabetes.com.

Doing some refreshers because I've mostly been working with gestational and pediatrics (for which most of these non-insulin drugs are contraindicated.) These videos have been a super helpful refresher on meds! Thank you!

I have been taken it for about a year. It makes me wake up at around 5-6 A.M. to go to toilet. I keep drinking green tea and keep a bottle of water next to my bed and drink about at least 500 ml until morning.

@@TheDiabetesNP oh, so ist's different spelled in Germany. Here it's named Forxiga. Yes, I verified in Wiki that it's named Forxiga in Europe and Farxiga in US -->> de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dapagliflozin I use it without diabetes for heart failure and have already lost 2,8 kg of weight.

non diabetic Keto acidosis(high ketones with normal blood sugars) is a very real thing with this drug. It is not compatible with low carb dieting or intermittent fasting. You can also get super dehydrated and lose a lot of minerals. Not worth the side effects for me.
