Amberielle T if you’re interested in getting a Marylin Blond you might want to ask for ‘single process color’. Foiled highlighting wasn’t done until the 80s so blond haircolor earlier than that usually lacked the highlights and lowlights that are now done in most all blond-jobs. If you don’t like how it looks you can always get high/low lights done later. It would probably be cheaper/faster to just get single process color.

After having an absolutely awful start in life, and surviving abuse after abuse after abuse from every side, being treated as a commodity by nearly everyone in her life, all while battling mental illness--none of that ever went away no matter how successful she became. A lot of it became worse. Nowadays we like to tell suicidal people "it gets better." Well, Marilyn worked hard and went far and damn near ascended to divinity to make things better for herself... but it never got better, and after a while, it caught up with her. It's hardly any wonder that she gave up.

Charlie Hockett Commodity. Divinity. What perfect words to truly describe how Marilyn is viewed in pop culture and society. I even read on her Wikipedia page that her icon status is so high, it almost seems like she is “a surface that foundations of pop culture have been built on.” That she’s “eternal” and “never set in a specific place or time.” And my favorite quote being that “she has become a surface on which narratives of American culture can be (re-)constructed and functions as a cultural type that can be reproduced, transformed, translated into new contexts, and enacted by other people". She is merchandised and packaged. She is everything and everywhere. Like Jesus or the cross. Very interesting indeed.

@donngodfather2856 жыл бұрын
Part of the reason Marilyn was so perfect looking and acting is that she had the most horrible early (and later) life. She was an abused orphan. Acting and dressing like she did was like a shield; she was almost untouchable, as she must have wanted, and yet desired, something else she wanted. Before she died she was constantly late to every meeting and shoot. She admitted she did this because she needed to feel that young Norma Jeane was wanted, when as an orphan she was shuffled around to 11 foster homes, never wanted by anyone. Poor Marilyn.
@hebneh5 жыл бұрын
Marilyn was never an "orphan". Her mother was mentally ill and promiscuous, and wasn't really sure who Marilyn's father was, so he was never there. The mother would take care of her for awhile, and would then either leaver her someplace or would be hospitalized. So it's definitely true her childhood was painful, but it's not true she was an orphan.

Her talent is beyond doubt, but how could you truly attribute it to her abuse? That seems more like you're romanticizing it, which, well, isn't good

@@heidithomas5455 lmfao what? Hollywood was controlled by the directors/prpducers, Marilyn could only try impress them in personal and professional spheres, as did many, many other actors and actresses. She was literally a sex icon, her sexuality is her whole thing, so that gave her a leg up, but like everyone else she was at their mercy. No dramatic takeover. And she was late a lot, true, especially towards the end of her life which really points more to her depression than her being a power-hungry brat

Everything about her look and how she's styled is seductive and epitomizes femininity. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but her image was carefully crafted and holds up as the pinnacle of timeless female beauty.

Marilyn wore that dress perfectly.She did " lay down plans from 13" she was a smart women, financially,career wise with many of her movie roles and perhaps even in love Her song choice was perfect too -she knew real love and intimacy she was too mature emotionally for the many of the men of her era. I love what she overcame and respect her endurance. An amazing,incredible lady who could have worn hot pink taffeta into her 80s and 90s had she lived longer. 💗🌺💃

@andresvillanueva54214 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I understand it wasn't a perfect time because of the misogyny and racism but the way they dressed up and acted was so elegant. I wish we could at least revive that from the 50s.
@andresvillanueva54214 жыл бұрын
@cm. CG Obviously someone was going to bring that up if I didn't so I did what had to be done. Misogyny didn't exist back then in some cultures, not sure about racism though but humans are tribalistic but that doesn't justify bad behaviour.
@andresvillanueva54214 жыл бұрын
@cm. CG And a lot were not misogynistic. So what is your point? You're using "Everyone did it back then" as an excuse to justify your thoughts and beliefs? Crazy.
@andresvillanueva54214 жыл бұрын
Let's not forget having relationships with children was also a norm in many societies back then, that must be normal for you too. *Your logic*
